New Ezine Articles - I laughed my head off

This just made me laugh. Note: I originally thought this was from EzineArticles, but its not. It is from a site called New Ezine Articles.

Just a brief message regarding the acceptance of MLM (Multi Level Marketing) articles. Due to a major rush in poorly written articles, lack of proper category selection and actual spamming, all MLM articles will no longer be accepted at New Ezine Articles.

As usual everyone must pay for the consequences of just a few. To the authors of the well written MLM articles, I do apologize for this but we are wasting too much time emailing and deleting the poor articles.

Anyone who continually uploads any MLM articles will be banned after one mailing to remind them of our MLM non acceptance rule.

Thank you for your understanding and also your cooperation,
#ezinearticles #head #laughed

I don't exactly feel sorry for Chris Knight - he's making big money - but I can sympathize with his editors. I used to deal with a lot of MLM'ers and network marketers on a daily basis as a service provider, and those folks can be some of the most clueless people online. Still funny, though. <snicker>

I've never been a fan of MLM myself, it always smelt of dodgy dealings, even though there are probably some honest and reputable MLM companies out there, i've always stayed clear of those kinds of opportunites.

So yeah, i'm kind of happy that they're not allowing mlm articles anymore.

Some people who promote so-called MLM opportunities are almost unbelievably naive and don't realise that these days the FTC, the regulators and the courts "look behind the value of the products" and check that there are genuine retail sales to genuine retail customers (i.e. not just distributors), and it's becoming increasingly common for companies to be wound up by courts. All of which is welcome, of course, but really not EZA's problem at all.

There are new "MLM's" starting off every week, if not every day, with $200 entry-level products comprising an e-book and a CD of which the sole function is to teach people "how to run the business". And some people are genuinely surprised when these "opportunities" inevitably turn out to be illegal and don't last a year!!
What I find real funny is that some people will join these so-called companies that promise "to teach you how to run a business" and people pay the money and then run to forums and media based sites to ask questions on how to do this or that .. :p

If the company you are paying can not answer your questions then why on earth are you paying them ???

It came via email actually. I write for a client under a pen name that does MLM stuff. That's probably why I got it.

If Ezinearticles raises their standards too much, they may find they have hardly any articles left

I recently had an article rejected for having too many keywords. In my opinion, this is another dumb rule. The fact is, I wasn't trying to "stuff" the article with keywords. It's just a natural tendency to repeat words that are central to the topic. If you are writing about dogs, you'll tend to repeat the word "dogs," even if you don't know what a key word is.

I try not to waste energy worrying about what Ezinearticles or even Google is up to this week. It's like worrying about what the government is doing. Most of the time it's stupid, but you can't control it so you may as well work around it the best you can.

It seems a little harsh to me. What's next banning Im's, we will all be crying foul then. Regarding the earlier post about article quality getting too high I could not disagree more, have you seen some of the stuff that gets published?

If it were me, and I'd cited the reasons in the original post, I'd just ban the lot of them.

Otherwise you ask each editor to spend time deciding whether an article is informational or promotional. And then spend time telling the ones judged promotional why.

If the objective is to ease the load, then the only really effective way is to set it down completely.

I can't really argue with them banning the MLM stuff, really is that adding any value to their site?

I'd guess we'll see a continued tightening of EZA over the next few months as they try to keep their workload under control by kicking out some of the more difficult categories to police.

I agree with Ezine. MLM articles should not be allowed. There is just something wrong with MLM companies, they always promise the sky and show you the top guy that is doing so great, and you get in but you never see anything.
Avon is even advertising now telling people that they can't get fired or downsized. But at least when you had a job you get a paycheck and you didn't need to shell out your money before you get paid. With MLM you can never be sure if you'll ever see a paycheck.

Good work Ezine, make more space for business opportunities that actually provide more income opportunity!
