Amazon weird occurence

So I just checked my amazon earnings summary and here is what I see:

Orders Summary

Ordered items 17
Clicks 33
Conversion 51.52%

However, when I go to my earnings report I see this:

Earnings Report Totals

Glossary
December 8, 2009 to December 8, 2009

Items Shipped Revenue Referral Fees
Total Amazon.com Items Shipped 0 $0.00 $0.00
Total Third Party Items Shipped 0 $0.00 $0.00
Total Items Shipped 0 $0.00 $0.00
Total Items Returned 0 $0.00 $0.00
Total Refunds 0 $0.00 $0.00
TOTAL REFERRAL FEES 0 $0.00 $0.00

Now, why in the world would it say 17 items ordered, but not a single dollar in referral fees? Do I have to wait for the items to be shippped or is this just a glitch?

Yesterday is said no items ordered, now its saying 17.

Could someone please explain this?

I got all excited when I saw 17 items ordered, but then not a single dollar in the earnings report.

Why is this happening?

    Also, there is another report:
    Clicks & Conversion Summary

    December 1, 2009 to December 8, 2009

    Glossary
    Product Link Clicks 32
    Other Clicks 1
    Clicks 33
    TOTAL CONVERSION 51.52%

I read the help section and it says sometimes there are orders placed but the customer cancels the order or the supplier ran out of inventory. Could this be what happenned and thats why its not showing me any commission?

Your referral fees are added when the products are shipped not when they are ordered. Some of the suppliers take several days.

So I actually made some money online? If So I'm ecstatic. I was getting dismal and disappointed only to see 17 items ordered in one day. If this is for real I should be seeing a decent commission from this.

So basically it may take a few days before the referral fees show up?

Depending on the type of product it usually ships within 24 to 48 hours. I usually get 50% of my commissions the next day only after it has been shipped.

Yesterday for some reason my amazon account was slow to update.

Just give it a day or so and you will get credited for your commission.

Also, i find that amazon has a much lower return rate than any other vendor i promote, so you should see most of them in commissions

      Well it was really weird.

The website promotes PC Accessories (i.e. mice, keyboards, headsets) and all of the sales were PC video games. I could understand maybe 1 person buying a video game, but 17 video games were all that was sold. So either 1 person bought 17 different PC games, or a bunch of visitors bought 1 video game. Either way it was kind of strange.

I'm just waiting for it to be someone messing around and not confirming their payments and then crushing my excitement.

Thats why the hobby niches are so awesome.

People go in wanting to buy one thing, but come out buying $200 worth of crap they never really intended to buy.

And P.S. Your review format looks very familiar...

      It's OK!

      No need to be alarmed.

You did actually make money online.

Depending on the day the items are placed, it can take extra long for the product to get shipped - especially from third parties.

I have noticed that some take up to a week, especially on heavier items.

Amazon.com products usually get shipped that day though.

      Congrats on the sales!

Hey Daniel, I couldn't have done it without your e-book. I never got around to giving you a testimonial.

"You took me from a complete novice 3 weeks ago to a real firm understanding of not only wordpress blogging, but how to get those pages ranked on Google."

Use that as a testimonial if you want.

Hey Jacob, congrats on your sales! As everyone else said the earnings delay is normal. You mentioned wondering how many people were clicking through... you can find some nice little detailed reports on Amazon via some of those other links besides earnings that are listed on the left hand side of your screen. Under "Daily Trends" for example you can see how many clicks were made (these are clicks on Amazon as well as from your site to Amazon) and how many unique visitors clicked from your site to Amazon. If you have multiple link types you can check "Link Type Report" to see what types of links people are clicking through.

It'll all show up after awhile. Amazon is slow. On top of that tho, amazon has been a bit odd lately. My reporting and inventory was messed up for awhile and when I wrote them they just said their "top engineers" were working on it lol.
