Clickbank is my customer! Or is he?

Hi

I have a question about being a Clickbank Vendor - if anyone else is, I was wondering how best to do accounts. Do I claim Clickbank is my customer and pays me every 2 weeks, or do I need to account for the individual customer transactions and refunds etc. (i hope not!!)

I was wrestling with this one, as if you use a bank account or paypal, surely you need to disclose the individual customers, not clump them together. But then paypal is a bit different as they give you a NET payment not a GROSS one.

Any ideas (im in the UK by the way)?

Thanks!

Thanks Alexa - if CB is my customer then that makes my life a whole lot easier. I'll do my books on this assumption and then see what the accountant says. I didn't want a whole meeting with an accountant to ask this one question though!

Now I've seen you over at DP too, which forum do you think is better? Oh silly question.

I'm also in the uk and have been accounting clickbank as the 'customer' - I think that is also supported by the fact that clickbank charge and collect vat from all european customers whereas a lot of the individual uk clickbank vendors would not be required to charge vat.
I had a meeting with the vat man a couple of years ago and one of the things he wanted to check was that in my paypal accounts I had been putting the full original total down as my income and not just the total received from paypal after their fees (I had), so that is obviously something they watch out for.

I'm a bookkeeper (by day) and I also post Clickbank as my customer when I post my weekly deposits from them in my own books. It keeps things much simpler.

@Sylvia- excellent thanks for that information. Good to know a bookkeeper recommends the same.
