Landing Page not converting

Hi

I'm after some critique on a landing page I've created

I'm a graphic designer/web developer, recently got interested in using my skills to make some additional income on auto pilot, from things like affiliate sites.

I have fairly recently set-up a white label dating site. I feel the landing page is simple with a strong call to action. I've a few methods of getting traffic, the main one being adwords. I've had over 2000 unique visitors since going live, but not one person has signed up!!? Seems a bit weird, or maybe I'm missing something really obvious? I'm only targeting a small number of keywords (under 15) and I have a seperate ad for each keyword. To test how effective the ads are targeting specific towns, I have one ad targeting London & one targeting Birmingham, each has it's own landing page with a headline according to the ad, for example, the headline for the London ad landing page is "You're seconds away from finding singles in London... FREE!"

I'd really appreciate it if some of you could take a look and maybe suggest why the site isn't converting? datesnmates.com
I'm after some constructive critisism only, not looking for any of you to sign up!

Are you talking about the site in your signature? I went there and after reading the whole first page I have no idea what your selling or what your company does. Also there was no opt in space on the main page...

This does not look like a landing page at all. A more straight forward sales page will do wonders for the people visiting your site.

  • Thanks for the replies. Maybe I wasn't clear about the landing page (but I can't post links yet) it's the landing page at datesnmates.com

Really!? Are you sure it was when visiting my landing page?

You see join free today and receive a special bonus but you don't give details so, people don't know what they get.

On the other hand, you are asking for too much information try asking just for name and email.

Another thing you can do is make it simpler, you can even remove the image in the background.

      It is all about testing.

      Thanks,

  • Thanks for the comments Reymond.

This is the 3rd version of the landing page.
    1st version had no offer
2nd version told the user what the bonus was (it's a ebook about online dating)
3rd version is the live version now. I thought if people didn't know what the gift was, curiosity would get the better of them!?

Regarding the info I am asking for, I have no control over that, this info is required by the company that run the dating software.

Well the thing is people usually join dating sites from word of mouth. Who wants to be the first member on a dating site? That would be pretty lonely. Most other dating sites let you see that there are tons of profiles before you join.

Like you can search and see tiny images of a ton of busty young girls, but to see the full profile you gotta join for free. Then they upsell you be requiring the $$$ to actually email the girls.

That seems to be the scheme that works. It takes a crowd to make a crowd.

    • LondonPaladin - Maybe thats it!

This is a landing page for an already existing database of members, literally hundreds of thousands! I was going for something as clean and a simple as possible. I felt giving a sneak peak at existing members and letting them search was complicating things. You could be right though, perhaps people do want to see that first? If you look at the link to the blog associated with my landing page - datesnmates.com/dating-tips you'll see a 'recent members' feed. Maybe I should integrate that into my landing page and let them do a seach?
