Tracking - How do you do it?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi Warriors.

I am just getting to the stage now where I don't just want to see optins or leads.

I want to see where they came from, what they respond to etc.

I know tracking them can be really powerful!

My questions are...

What do you use to track them? and What kind of things do you track?

It's all uncharted territory for me, so would love to know of other warriors methods and tools.

Tracking and testing is a necessity, without it, you won't be able to grow and expand your online business to new heights.

There are many ways to track and it depends on what and how you want to track.

I primarily track my traffic with Google Analytic. I also use 3rd party tools such as Hyper Tracker to track specific avenues of traffic that I utilize and where I want a visitor to take a specific action.

Google Analytic is by far one of the best if not the best tracking analysis tool available on the internet and the best thing about it is that it's totally free!

  I use Google Analytics for all my sites and think it does the job when it comes to tracking visitors around your sites.
  
  The only other service I use a lot is bit.ly for links on twitter, facebook, etc. might not be as powerful as some trackers but does what I need it to.

  Can Google Analytics track sales back to the source of traffic?
  
  I would love stats tracking that could show me where all of my sales are coming from.
  
  The difference between / how Google Analytics & Google Adwords Conversion Tracker are very confusing to me.

  SeanyG, yes, GA can track sales to the exact source of traffic, it's just a matter of knowing what to do within the GA interface to allow you to track the medium in question.
