Done my first product/website. Now what do i do?

Hello fellow warriors.

Found out about Internet Marketing 6 months back. Bought some ebooks and then bought some more. Bought some mentoring programs and then Bought some more. Figured out what my problem was. Stood in front of the mirror looked myself straight in the eyes and said 'TAKE SOME ACTION'
I have one of the busiest stupidest schedules in the world but ever since I done that in the mirror I started taking action cos I realized even the most successful mentor/coach couldn't help me till I TAKE ACTION.

My dream was to help as many people in the world as possible. In any way possible. Thats what I do in real life coz you don't have to be the highest paid motivational speaker to motivate others. Sorry for the ramblings but I'll cut to chase now.

Here is my first website/product. (see sig file)

Question:

I have no money at all at the moment. I have convinced a few friends who have seen me take action sitting on my computer nights n nights working trying to make my first website and they are willing to lend me some money because they believe in my and my potential and my dream to make a difference. (and Coz they want me back in their social gatherings asap)

What should I do to get traffic and some sales now??

I have understanding of ppv (also a step by step video course)
or should I invest me mates money in conventional marketing seo, article marketing n stuff but i think that is really good but in long term. I really need to make some sales to keep the bills paid.
Since Its not my own money I really want to be careful and precise devising my marketing strategy and want the shortcut (if there is one) to get some instant sales to keep me going for now.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. YOU ARE AWESOME.

You should focus on driving traffic in ways that doesn't cost you money. It doesn't take a major investment to get your first sale. Have you considered the 30day challenge?

It's designed to make your first dollar without spending one.

      Hello

When i first started online, i had these same worries.

How can i get my first sale.

I honestly didnt know at the time and i was recommended different ways but didnt know much about them.

Believe it or not my first sale i received was from traffic exchanges but is a very time consuming way.

I dont recommend using a traffic exchange to seel anything but if you had a nice looking splash page it might do you well.

Also in my experience i used the smaller exchanges to do this with.

I seemed to have a better conversion.

But in my opinion, twitter has always been a great place to make a sale or 2.

It might take a few days but you can still make a good sale.

Just dont promote your sales page too much.

      Talk about other things also.

Get to know a few people that are looking for what your selling.

      Hope this helps

I am going to focus on ways getting organic and free traffic but like I said for now atleast I need a quick few sales to keep me going (pay bills and stuff)
30day challenge?? I guess I've seen it mentioned somewhere on the forums but need to know more about it. I'll look it up and please feel free to post here about it if you want.
        Thanks for your help.

If you insist on spending money, invest in quality written articles and submission services.

PPC and PPV can be very profitable but in the beginning you will lose money.

So since your not trying to lose your friends money i suggest you invest in outsourcing tasks like article writing and submission, seo, blog commenting, and forum marketing.

Once you have enough of your own riskable (<< is that a word?) capital then you can invest time and money into learning about PPC and PPV.

Wont the article submission services benefit in the long term and not the short term? They definitely are a great source of traffic specially combined with press releases and back linking and they definitely are on my to do list of marketing this book.

If I give a ppv campaign a try and say invest around $100-$150 in it. Will i make any sales?? ( I know its a total newbie daft innocent stupid question but really cant help it) Please have a look at my sales page and let me know your prediction.

        Thanks Craig for your advice.

I appreciate you all taking the time out to post your valuable advice here.

Interesting point you make here craig about twitter. I purchased tweet dynamite few weeks ago by Dave Nicholson. I worked on it and now everything is set on auto-pilot with quality content targetting towards self help and personal development and will be promoting to them from time to time. Its amazing as I was neva a twitter person hence only had around 70 followers. I'm closed to 200 now after only 2 days. Soon i'll have an army of targetted followers.

        Thanks again.

First thing I'd do is post your link in the copywriting section right now and ask for a critique. It needs some help.

Then start driving traffic to it. Don't wait for the critiques. You can tweak the squeeze page at any time. The important thing is that you work on sending traffic.

If your product and any back end offers are done, the sales & delivery process can be automated. So invest most of your time in driving traffic. Once you've got some data to go off, implement some of the suggestions offered throught the critiques of your squeeze page. But still spend the bulk of your time on traffic generation.

If you don't have it and you can afford it, I'd suggest getting a copy of the traffic generation workshop that fellow Warrior Kevin Riley put together.

Last I checked he's still selling it for $49.95 in his WSO. It's easily and legitimately worth double that.

Well esentially the article submission service is good for both long term and short term traffic.. Once your articles get picked up by the Search Engines they will drive steady traffic to your sales page. But in the mean time you would be able to get some instant traffic from people who browse the article directories.

The more you have submitted the more visitors you will get.

As far as your PPV question.. Does it make sense to spend $150 to make one or two sales?.. you would be upside down.. It would make sense if your looking to test conversions of your sales page. Then if you lose out on profits you would at least have valuable data to tweak your page.

But since your looking to make sales to keep yourself afloat, as you stated, then it wouldnt make sense to spend money to make less money.

So for now i would focus on the type of traffic that is free to generate. For instant traffic i recommend video marketing on youtube, look into the video response option on youtube.

I also highly recommend blog commenting and forum marketing. Those are the best ways to drive instant traffic.. do a search on the forums to find useful posts about those types of traffic strategies.

Cheers. I am looking into it now. I guess i was hoping high to get more then a few sales from ppv lol but yea I definitely wanted the data too. That was just as important during the campaign to test the conversion.

I also plan to make my own blog. hopefully soon.
I am a half decent writer too the thing I think sometimes is though I have influenced people and changed them and motivated them offline (mainly the reason I chose personal development in IM) am not qualified or formally educated in the niche of self help. people tend to listen to somebody with a qualification these days. So if i set up my blog do I have to back it up formal education as per the niche or not?

          Hey Maddi

If you need any extra help with twitter i can give you some extra advice no charge.

          I promise.

Twitter has been my main source of traffic for at least a year now and i love it.

So if you need some help you can just add me on twitter or send me a pm.

Ill be more than happy to help.

And dont worry i wont talk you into joining my list.

See i had struggles on twitter when i first started but i have a little secret that i found useful that you wont find anywhere in these paid twitter programs like twitter dynamite or even programs i have purchased in the past like twitter traffic machine.

They do have good content but just remember this.

Most books or systems you buy are very outdated and never get updated.

You know just like i do, things change day after day in this crazy marketing world and twitter by far changes faster than anything else i have seen.

Anyway ill be glad to help.

              Hey Red

I added you to my main account on twitter.

              Just a little advice.

This is what works for me on twitter.

              I send out 2-3 links a day.

The only time i send these links out is when i know the most people are on.

Usually in the morning and a few through out the day.

              Let me ask you this.

What do you do when you see a bunch of tweets with links?

Well me personally i ignore the links.

And if someone tweets to many links i unfollow them.

To me its just like the spam i see in my email inbox.

So what do you think other people do. Delete Delete.

So who is left on your list to tweet.

other spammers. You think there clicking on your links or even want to buy something from you.

              Get the picture.

So give out alot of information

Like let people know what your doing

              Send out some cool quotes

Use twitter for what it was made for.

I personally ignore people that send out a link every hour

See most people know that other twitterers automate their twitter account so they wont have any interest in you or your links.

But tweetlater is a great tool and you dont have to use it just to send out tweets with links.

The key in twitter is bringing traffic to your site or blog not send them to a lame sales page.

The other key is build multiple twitter accounts.

Im not talking about 2 or 3 accounts

              strive for 80 different accounts

10 accounts around one niche and keep building it like that.

Just think if you had 50,000 followers on 10 accounts on one certain niche

              Thats 500,000 followers

How many people do you think will click on your links if you sent out a link every hour. Not many i guarantee.

See i have tested this for almost 2 years now.

              People want real. Not robots.

I can almost promise with 500,000 followers you could range anywhere from 200 clicks up to 1000 clicks just on 1 site.

But like i said get them interested in you.

Even Retweet a few people everyday

              They will appreciate that.

              Thats my lesson for today.

You wont find this stuff in a book or a program.

              This is real testing stuff

When people write books or produce their twitter programs their not testing for months or even years.

They follow some other major media guru like Bill Crosby and build the program off what that person says.

I have bought twitter programs just to see what there all about.

If you notice there the same material and even use the same quotes that the big guru makes.

I think its pretty funny stuff.

My mom always told me. You cant always listen to what other people say.

Dont follow and dont believe. Find out for yourself by testing the different avenues.

              Hope this helps

I'm not a traffic expert but I got your free chapter and went through to your sales page just to have a look.

There is plenty of room for improvement there, it needs to be longer with more detail. The self-help niche is very competitive, you need to tell the reader exactly why they should purchase your book, i.e. what benefits they'll get.

I'd post your link in the copywriting forum and ask for a critique. You should get plenty of help.

I know the self help niche is quite competitive but that is what I'm passionate about and that is why I've chosen it. I know its gonna take a while before I make my name a brand but thats what the plan is anyways. I may also abandon this niche for a short while after this product if ultimately doesnt do very well.

I was going to post my link in the copywriting forum but then I though since I can't spend any money on copy at the moment. whats the point?
But i guess I am going to post the link in the forum just to see the response.

This type of page will be hard to market with articles or seo.
Set up some content pages , drive traffic with articles and seo to these . Back link every thing . Place links in your content to get them to your cap page or use pop ups

By articles and seo i meant like getting articles posted in directories and ranking those articles for related keywords... Every article of course having a link in the resource box to his squeeze page. Optimize that link with some captivating tagline for anchor text and it generate tons of traffic.

And if you do some proper kw research and look for very low competition keywords you should be able to rank in the SE's with minimal backlinking.

When I created my first product I started building my list with 2 step marketing.
Before I had a squeeze page I would send out teaser ads and people would click
    on my auto responder link.

I have a capture page now...I still advertise in ezines like Directory of Ezines (DOE)
and I get targeted traffic to my site. Very simple. I also advertise in Home business magazine and entrepreneur magazine and send people to my webaite capture page.

I simply get a domain name that people can remember and forward it to my capture page. This works for me I make good money doing it.

Haha..yeah, you're learning fast...that sig of yours should have brought some extra traffic your way!

If it's a unique product, why not try the warrior special offers forum, or post it in the classified section. failing that, article marketing, twitter and other social networking sites?

Another way, would be to do some viral marketing...just a thought!

My sig has got me a few hits but not a lot (it it was my sig u were talking about or Thizzle you quoted )

It is a good product if not totally unique but wso ummm... 2 reasons i wouldnt go for it right now.
        1. WF is an IM forum and not many people would buy a build confidence ebook as it doesnt grow their list, build their opt-ins or helps in anyway directly towards their IM business.
        2. If you read my first post i've mentioned I'm terribly low on finances these days.

Viral marketing... ahan... any further explanation on that would be appreciated.

        Thanks.

Yes, i know it's a self help book and all that, but would you not go down the road of offering resale rights to it, or even master resale rights, and limit the sales to say 20-30? That would generate some dollars for you, and test your selling skills too.

The money generated from the sales off here could help finance another project or whatever???

Also, as for the viral marketing part, i have a brand new product coming out within the next day, drop me a PM and i'll send you the download link for the PDF ebook, have a read of that and it will explain all...

You'll be surprised how many sales you will make in the warrior special offers section for self help ebooks with resale rights, hell, i'm sure some of us can club together and help you get the $57 needed to run a WSO if need be - with a generous return on investment of course! ( just kidding about the return on investment part..)

ah thanks mate. i'd love to read that pdf of yours.
ah those $57 will have them soon I guess. thanks for generous offer though including that ROI part

as far as running a wso with resale rights or MRR (after managing the $57) is concerned the only part I dread the most is writing copy for that wso lol

p.s the website link in you twitter profile has a typo. Or is that on purpose keeping people from checking your pitch page lol
