Don't know where to start in IM

I have been reading around these forums for 1-2 months now.
There is so much good information on this forum but I don't no what method to take up and stick with until I start making some money.

What should I do to get into the Internet Marketing game?
I have small goals of making a couple of hundred a month and then to rinse and repeat the method

You have to decide what would be the best suit for you..
Choose your niche, start blogging using some free web 2.0 properties like blogger.com or wordpress.com , and start writing..
Write one post daily, and in the mean time, learn from this forum what's the best way to monetize your blog..
After some time you'll have so much ideas, and you'll know which way to go..
Hope this helps at least for the start

I think Avdo has laid out the track for you. Although in my account i did a lot of waste of money not time actually as i did my research work but the point is you need good amount of knowledge and perfection in various areas that you may never know when they hit yea and your set off with bad image. Of course its a difficult choice and decision but with Blogger I would recommend you to try Squidoo and give it more attention as you build up in your efforts to gain profits in what ever market you are into. I am new here testing my own knowledge will report back soon ..

Avdo is spot on..... especially with regard to focusing on the one niche/method. The biggest problem most people find is jumping from one idea to another and not focusing. Most also spend a fortune on the next big offer, and the next one, and the next one.........

        Good luck

My suggestion for you would be to focus on one area in the internet marketing space and devote yuor time and energy to being successful there. once you have managed to build some results and earn some income in the first strategy, move on to a second and continue building from there.

The last thing you want to do is over-complicate things and become confused and frustrated if your results don't match your expectations. Stick with it man and good luck.

you need to play on your strengths, test niches you have an interest in, use methods that you are good at, for example if your good at writing, try article marketing, buy courses on it, learn more about it, build on that info

    hope this helps

yep, FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS...choose ONE niche, ONE product, ONE domain...ONE marketing method and stick with it till you get results...i screwed around too much, scattered my time and efforts trying to do everything... I made my first two $25 affiliate commissions and got my first check for $50 a month and a half later...only after I FOCUSED... ONE niche, ONE product, ONE domain, ONE marketing method.

you can add ONE more marketing method after you've started getting results with your first marketing method...just my 2 cents

When i started off, i got great tips from WF which somehow led me to Squidoo, where i made a few lenses. Moved on to Hubpages where i discovered that they rank well with google. So if you are prepared to write articles on your chosen niche, with good original quality content, a minimum of 350 words(not much eh!), optimised well for adsense earnings, do good keyword research using the free google adwords tool, you will be on your way to earning from adsense in an easy and fun way.
I never knew earning online was possible. Now i get my adsense payout everymonth.

Whatever you do, do NOT start with the IM niche. Pleeeeeease, start off with something you're already familiar with: riding horses, playing golf, electronic gadgets, backpacking, or whatever your hobbies are.

    Hi Onekiwiman,

It's always difficult to get your head around what to do, and I empthaise with your dilemma - where to start

Here's is my suggestion for somewhere to start:

Start with Adsense simply because it is a "no-sell" business model. People arriving on a website you create have two options. Read your content and click on your adsense ad. Or read content and leave.

One of the best people to learn this from is Geoff Shaw. He's very knowledgeable, he systemises things very well, he's a well respected warrior and he is a Kiwi. If you read some threads on here about Geoff (his name on here is opoqo), you'll find (once you are a member of his products) that he is responsive to your questions.

Check out Geoff's Money Wheel product(no affiliate link). At $14.95 this is an affordable and low risk solution option for you.

    I hope this helps.

as stated above and I think you already know find a niche that is not in the make money niche. Look for a niche in the evergreen areas, something that is always needed, like dating, weight loss, debt, stuff like that. But try to get into a micro niche because these are very broad niches, and if you dont follow a solid gameplan you will end up nowhere fast and frustrated.

Check out something like the 30 day challenge or newbie university they are both free and offer solid methods to follow step by step.

Or if you have some money you can spend check out the IM Bootcamp by Jeremy And Don it is great and has helped so many people start out and make your first money online. I think it is like 37.00 well worth it in my opinion.

Also Bryan Zimmerman has a great guide for newbies that actual tells you what you need to do day by day along with a check list that I think is very helpful. I think it is 20.00 or so but all these options will help you and have had success for others.

But if you don't follow the gameplan and do the work required it does no good.

      Good luck to you

I suggest you start off by doing affiliate marketing. Its the easiest way to get started and you don't need a product of your own. Not even a website, but I suggest you get one. As you get more experienced in online marketing, you can later create your own products.
    1. Get a website
    2. Get an autoresponder and create a squeeze page to build a list.
    3. Promote clickbank products on your website.
    4. Promote clickbank products to your list.
    5. Drive traffic to your squeeze page and product pages.

Hope this helps. If you need help on affiliate marketing or getting traffic you can check out my signature. Some good free ebooks there.
