I've moved a blog before, but not from root director..help please :)

Hi Gang

I recently moved a blog which was on a subdomain from one host to another, no problem. But now I want to move a site which is in the root from one host to another. The problem is, say my main site is "bum.com", which would mean my cpanel is "bum.com/cpanel", so if I host this at another hosting company, would it mean I couldn't log into my control panel?

Or...am I just moving the contents, but my logon would still be "bum.com/cpanel" despite the fact the actual site isn't there any more.

Sorry, badly explained, but if you know what I'm takling about, do you know if it will cause problems??

    Great question, I've also been wondering this in the last day or two. I want to sell off one of my domains, but it's also my cPanel login.

    Not sure about other hosts, but if you're with HG you should be able to switch which domain you'd like to designate as your primary. If you haven't gotten a response by the time I get home later, I will have a look and share my results.

      You can ask the host to change the Primary Domain - I've done that before. With Hostmonster I think it was.
