A Newbie Need Advice: Which to Promote?

I have just started doing niche promotion and am at the crossroad, because I am unsure as to which to promote, an ebook, amazon, cpa or some other self affilaite programs...

When you begin a brand new niche site, how are you to build that credibility where people will actually stay and read your content.

Since there are so many different offers out there, how would you determine which particular product would you promote and are certain that its the solution to the problem customers have.

Should I start promoting the minute the website's built, or to wait for a week or two to do that?

It would be great if any WF members can give me some advice.

Thanks,
Alex

Trust me, if you want to build a respected site AND make money from offers then your best bet would be NOT to promote straight off the bat. YOu have to provide content and VALUE first. Give them tons of free stuff and then take it from there. I would go the CPA and Amazon route.

All of this depends on your niche off course.

      Hi Kate,
Thanks for your advice, and my niche should be selected from the remedy niche.

Understood, thanks for the advice. It should be in the remedies niche, I am still not sure which to choose yet. I should try to find a niche that will have soem CPA offers then.

But sometimes, when you find a niche that is....

CPA offer - the ultimate physical product you will need to cure this...
then in CB(most products) - Cure this naturally in XX days or by doing this or that...

This is so contradicting to the offers from CPA.

Here is where I am really stuck. Which one should i go for? Natural solution or with physical products?

I hope you get what I mean.

Because its more of a theraputic remedy I am dealing with, so I am just a little overwhelmed...

      Am I thinking too much?

    hi,

I think you might go have some product research first ...

and try it on google search engin then compare it.
I am a newbie too, that's what I am doing now either.

    Hi...

It really depends on the niche itself. Some are better suited for Adsense. Others for CPA offers. Others for affiliate promotions.

Now, some niches you can do all three in, but generally you want to have just a few monetization options available on one page.

So to answer your question: it depends on your niche.

Niche selection and product promotion go a bit hand in hand.

Before you pop the site up, I'm glad to see you are deciding how to monetize it first.

I would do a general search on google for "niche + affiliate program" and see what is available and how many you will need to sell and how it's converting.

Visit other sites with your same niche, and see if there is adsense, or what not and how others are monetizing on the traffic.

Avenuegirl, thanks for your advice, I have done exactly what you suggested and if you read my above concerns, hope you could let me know how you think. But product selection especially in the remedy niche is not as easy as I thought it would be.

Well,I think you should first make an investigation before you make a decision.Sometimes, insight into an area is very important and it can help you save a lot time and aviod lots of trouble. For the last question, according to my experience, you'd better wait for some time before you start to promote your new website.

Personally, I think you are thinking too much. You have to test your offers. See what works. Physical products work better in some niches. CPA offers work well in some niches. Clickbank products work well in some niches. Amazon products work well in some niches. Multiple offers work well in some niches.

There isn't any set rule to figure out what works and what doesn't work. There are way too many variables involved in every niche to figure out what works and what doesn't work. My point is that you have to test out different offers and see what works best. Once you find the best combination, promote that offer for that niche.

The only people who can really tell you what works best for your specific niche are your competitors. You can be rest assured that they are not going to tell you what works!

When you are promoting a Niche product the best thing to do is use google's free keyword research tool and look at the amount of monthly searches your niche keywords and phrases get. Personally I try to find niches that have over 20,000 searches each month, then after I find around 10 good keyword phrases I have an article and a blog post written for each keyword. I submit the articles to article directories and post the blog posts to my niche blog. For the first 30 days I update the blog everyday with a new blog post, I also use social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, etc. and I would also create a squiddo lens using one of my articles. I also make comments on do follow blogs in my niche and get involved with the forums in the niche.

Promote things that pay you residuals.. that is.. things like membership sites or products people have to keep ordering more than once. That way all your efforts build upon themselves. It's much easier to go from a trickle to a flood that way.

      Hi Victoria,

Thanks for your valuable advice. I havent looked into building membership sites yet, I may have to learn more about it before thinking about it. But I do understand what you mean. Doing it once and get paid residual income. I have to research a little what I should learn and offer to make a good Alex membership site.

      Thanks,
      Alex

You should check out the other sites in your niche, note what they do, and copy their methods. If they are ranked high on Google, then they have already made money. Do what they do to get results.

    What I mean is:

    - See how there site is designed
    - See what keywords they are using
    - See what products they are promoting
    - See where they are promoting their site
    - Use link: "site name" to find who they link to

When you build your site, you can monetize right away. It might make the ranking of your site take a little longer to get high up in the search engines, but it'll only be a week or 2 longer if you do it right.
