Are You an Internet Marketer OR ...

OK - I wonder if you would help me with this bit of Market Research I am conducting for a possible future venture.

Are You an 'Internet Marketer' OR ... something else?

In other words: how do you like to describe yourself? Are you comfortable with that label or does it have any kind of negative connotation for you; and, if so, how do you prefer to be described?

Thanks

I'm an infopreneur. An entrepreneur who markets information. Internet marketing is just a form of marketing to me, not a business. It's another vehicle for distributing my products.

    Good question.

Well, I´m internet marketer but I´m also a father and husband, musician and much more...

Well, I don`t really put any labels on myself.

I rather see myself as a person who does lots of fun things...

Thanks for the replies guys. So let me refine the question a bit: I am thinking of creating a new product/service targeted at Internet Marketers & I have not as yet decided what it will be called. Instead of calling it ...

    Internet Marketer's Great Wizzo Service

... I am wondering what other phrase I might use.

The reason I am looking for other titles is that I believe, in the minds of some people, the phrase 'Internet Marketer' may have negative connotations.

So, instead of 'Internet Marketer', what phrase might I use in my product/service description?

      Tom,

If the product is for IMer's why would you not talk in the language that IMer's understand?

Why reinvent the will. Talk to your audience using words they Know and understand.

Focus on what works not what YOU think will work.

OK - fair question. Let me explain a bit more. The product/service is something that will help Internet Marketers but it will do so by providing something that their customers will, in-turn see.

So, I have no problem with the term; and you (as an Internet Marketer) may not have a problem either, but your customers or prospects might. So I am wondering if your customers might like to see you describe yourself as something else; some term other than 'Internet Marketer'.

In summary, I don't think there's anything wrong with being called an Internet Marketer, but because your customers might (see above responses) I was trying to find a good alternative term that sits well with Internet Marketers.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far.

      Ha!

But it's not the 'Great Wizzo Product' part that I am asking about - it's the 'Internet Marketer' part.

I see myself as a marketer, yes I do most of my work online, but some of it does get done off-line.

I also like Kevin's description very much :-)

I am certainly not an internet marketer, for the most part I do not know what I am yet lol

I guess I am a slap across the face for most people and myself, I know what turns people onto sites and I know what turns them off...and I am not afraid to say it lol

I'm a professional gambler first and foremost. I've invested my profits from betting in some rental properties, a restaurant and a stake in an audio visual company. For me Internet marketing is an avenue I've started to explore this last year as another way to invest my money, the idea being that if the betting career goes arse up then I've still got the means to support myself.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. It seems we will probably need to use the term 'Internet Marketer', but it has been quite interesting to hear how other people described themselves.
