*Advice* IM and my Business

hi everyone...i'm trying to get more clicks to my site and would like some advice on how to proceed...i've been working on my website for about a year with pretty good results (for me)...but i want to see better results!

i own a flooring company. my website's main goal is to get people to call my company. my target customers are those who live in my target area and who are looking to buy flooring (carpet, hardwood, tile, cork, bamboo).

questions:

is there a particular way i should be optimizing the Local Business Center on google...i come up on some terms but would like to see better results.

should i be submitting articles, doing link wheels, or some other activities? If you think so do you have a good source i can go to...i just don't think i have enough time learning the ins and outs of some of these things.

i would really like to get to the top of the organic searches with keywords like denver carpet, denver hardwood, colorado springs carpet, colorado springs hardwood...i'm doing pretty well with the colorado springs keywords but denver is a little more difficult...

my website is www coloradocarpet (dot) net ... any and all advice is greatly appreciated...this forum has been very very helpful...i wish i had known about it when i first started!

Thanks!

    A few questions:

1). What keywords are in your title tags?

2). How many people are searching for "Denver carpet" on Google?

3). Can you afford a giveaway of some kind? It's gotta be really valuable and really buzzworthy. For example, it's a few weeks before Christmas, so you can offer a free Nintendo Wii (only $179 at Costco here in Chicago) for anyone that can send you a picture of the ugliest carpet, coolest living room, ugliest tile, etc.

Based on your keywords, you can build links lots of different ways. From blog comments to discussion boards.

    I hope this helps.

      1. My title tag is "Denver Colorado Springs: Carpet, Hardwood, and Flooring

      2. in the google adwords keywords search it says that 22,000 people are looking for "denver carpet"

      3. a give away would be fine...i'm just not sure that's really going to get me more business...

as for clicks...i'm looking to get up around 2k to 3k a month...that's my next goal (double the amount i have currently)...that will give my company a good amount of calls and sales leads.

thanks rimam1 for taking the time to respond!!!

To get the kind of rankings that you want, you need to do on page SEO as well as to develop quality backlinks. Doing these things will have you ranking up there in no time.

Make sure you take a look at the phrase match and exact match versions of your keyword variations in the google tool as it will display more targeted results. you will end up finding out that there really aren't as many searches as you thought there were on Denver Carpets. You might still be able to get 2k clicks from it but you would have to rank higher than you do.

Focus on getting the backlinks and doing some on page SEO and that should get you where you need to be!

    Hope this helps!
