Making money from a blog?

Im new to all this guys and please excuse my ignorance, but can anybody please explain how I can make money from my blog? I want to start a blog in a sport that really interests me, how can I make money from blog like this?

    Wow, this is a wide open question, but I'll give my .02 cents.

    Using a sport as your niche -- let's say baseball.

    First, you want to sign up with an affiliate program that has something to do with baseball. It could be supplies or even baseball cards.

    Whenever you sell one of their products, you will get a commission.

    On Clickbank, there is a product on baseball that gives you a 20.49 commission for each sale.

    You simply blog on the topic and recommend the product.

    You can also earn using advertising services such as adbrite or adsense.

    Or, you can sell adspace to others.

    Thanks for the reply, do you think thats a good idea? I always read that I should pick a niiche that interests me and this sport is what I like, I was thinking of using RSS feeds.

      Another way : Google Adsense. You can place adsense ad to your blogs to make money.

    I've had fairly good luck with blogging and Adsense. What I like about Adsense is that I know they will pay me once a month if I hit its minimum for payment. My blogging method is to take about 100 medium-competition keywords and write a 750-word blog post about each of the keywords. I find that publishing an EZA article for each post with two of the keywords from my list pointing back to my blog post, one being the keyword I used in the title of the blog post, helps index the post. I realize this isn't a flashy way to go about making money online with a blog, but it works for me.

    I have had more luck with promoting an affiliate product on my blog. Do a good write up about the product then write an article through an article submission such as ezinearticles etc. Then promote the crap out of the article.

      Look for offers that are related to your sport. Amazon and ebay can help you out if your sport is not widely known. Be sure to have your site up and running before you signup with ebay or they will not approve you.

    You have to be careful about using a niche only because it interests you. There is a good chance a lot of others are marketing in this niche and it can be VERY saturated and hard to get targeted traffic and convert sales.

    Go to google's keyword tool and play around with it. See what keywords you had in mind for your sport, test them, and see how much competition there is.
