Is it just me or does YouTube Traffic Convert Better Than Search Engine Traffic?

Did a bit of video marketing recently... 50 videos and noticed my sales have really gone up for that product disproportionally to the increase in traffic.

Is this common?

Not really pre selling with the video much, it's kinda cheezy IMO but it must be working...

I've been doing a lot of testing with this. I noticed that it would only take 30 decent quality YouTube videos to "replace" my Google traffic.

So now I have both traffic sources feeding me visitors and it works wonders!

It depends on what you mean by convert. Do you mean getting them to join a list or to take some other type of action?

In this case I am selling A CB product. The reason here is likely if they knew how to use a search engine properly they would quickly discover the information being sold can be obtained for free. This is often the case but people are lazy. People who don't bother to learn to use a search engine properly to find anything are probably lazier still. JMO.

Traffic from youtube is definitely of more quality.

If there are 200 visitors to your site... 100 from each source...

    1. People search for something in Google and come to your site directly (the first 100).

    2. People search for something and stumble upon a YouTube video and after watching the video, they come to your site. If you get 100 visitors... may be more than 500 people have watched that video and 20% converted into visitors to your site. In this case the traffic is more filtered and obviously of more quality.

I never even thought of that lol.

Yeah that makes sense, also much easier for them to beforehand get a better idea about what you are selling from say, a 90 second informative video. Given that in the serps they get a short title and a few peasly short lines of text that must be optimized more so for SEO than sales or product description.

      Duh....

Yeah for sure a more qualified visitor.

I posted on multiple video sites 2 years ago and This one video generate me over $2500 in sales. Not sure if the traffic comes from youtube. But I am quite sure it was video traffic.

Well, youtube traffic can be search engine traffic as you can optimize your video and it can rank well in the search engines as videos great for SEO and youtube of course is one of the top websites in the world.

However, if someone just stumbles upon your video and you are getting most of your traffic that way, it means you are getting a lot of untargeted traffic so it likely won't convert as well.

Also, videos tend to rank higher and more easily for keywords on Google, so perhaps you are getting the buyers that are hitting the first page. Good job either way.

If you do a product review in "person" on a video then you have a better chance of converting them.

A living person is more persuasive than a cold sales page.

A really great way to recommend products is if you yourself bought and use it.
Then you can give a first hand review and maybe a little demonstration of the product in action.

Youtube traffic alone isn't always full of buyers. But anytime I get a video ranked high on google, that alone does wonders for my overall traffic and conversions.
