Clickbank Help? Can YOU Answer?

Hi All, I am looking for information on how to link to a clickbank product purchase page. What I want to do is to create my own sales page with a name capture. Then, once someone enters their name and email address, I want them to be taken to the affiliate page where they can enter their credit card info and I get credit for the purchase.

I don't want to take them through my sales process and then be taken to the affiliate site where the affiliate tries to capture their email address and name again. I want the buyer to be taken to my affiliates Pay Page.

So, from what I understand, you can create a "One Pixel" on a page in an iFrame. You use your affiliate Cookie and that is all it takes.

I don't know how to do this process.

Can anyone help out and give me instructions on how to achieve this process?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

You need to create an account with clickbank and get the hoplink that click bank creates. Then you need to place that link on a website or forum or whatever avenue you want to. Do you have a website?

    Do a search on sell.cgi

Make sure you narrow it down to ClickBank.

You'll be able to 'exactly' what you outlined in your OP.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but that isn't the question that I am asking. You see, what I want to do is to create a sales page, capture names on this page and once someone enters their email address, they will then be redirected to the "Enter Credit Card Info Page" of the affiliate site.

There is a way that you can do this. This is what I want to know. It has something to do with creating one pixel in an iFrame and adding this to a page.
So what happens is, someone comes to my capture site, I capture their email address, they watch a video containing the information about the product, the click to buy and are taken directly to my affiliates site where they can pay. They don't go to the home page of the affiliate site where the affiliate tries to capture their name and email address as well. (This is like trying to sell to the customer twice).

They are taken directly to the page where they enter their credit card info. And throught this process, I get credit for the sale.

I hope that clarifies what I am looking for.

I want to know how to set up this pixel in an iFrame that contains my affiliate info and takes the customer directly to the pay page of the affiliate site.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi tecHead,

I did a google search for "sell.cgi" and here is what I came up with:

Show & Sell is a Free CGI Perl 5 script which allows you to set up and log the display of clickable advertisements on your web site.

This isn't what I am hoping to find out how to do. Do you have another suggestion or is there something that I am missing?

    Thanks, appreciate it.

A: Yes. Any old payment links ("sell.cgi") you have will continue to work; however, the new format is likely to improve your conversion rates. This is because your personalized payment link domain name is not known to spyware and other hostile programs that hijack links and divert advertisements.

Sorry, don't have the time to go looking for the exact method; but that should give you enough information to find it. That's what I went on when I was looking for the answer.

I've done this... it's like this:

    http://www.clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YO.../1/PRODUCTNAME

    EDIT to make this work:

after the ? add your clickbankID_sellerclickbankIS/1/productname

If you have trouble finding out the seller and product name go to ClickBank Affiliate Marketing - ClickBank Products | CBGraph and check it out there.

      Hi GreekGranny, (love the name)

I hate to be a idiot, but can you explain it in more detail?

You stated, after the ? add your clickbankID_sellerclickbankIS/1/productname

I get to add your clickbankID and then underscore _ then sellerclickbankIS (what it this?) /the number 1 (why the number 1? could it be something else? ) / productname.

So, for example, you would put: http://www.clickbank.net/sell.cgi?to.../1/dogtraining

      Like above?

Once I have this code, then how do I use it? Is this the link that will take one to the affiliate's (Purchase Page) ?

Have you heard about having one pixel in an iFrame that does this?

I appreciate any feedback that you could give me.

    Three steps.

    1. Create an product hoplink through clickbank for the product you are selling. Copy this to a text editor such as notepad, and save this for later.

    2. In your autoresponder (if you don't have one, get one), you should be able to create a signup form. When creating it, put the clickbank hoplink in the form field that says 'followon url' or similar, and have it create this form.

    3. Copy and save the form into notepad, and when your page is created, copy the code out of the textfile into the lead capture page.

I have been getting some great information back and really appreciate everyone's help.

I have sorted through the information and here is the problem that I have found

    by creating a link:

    Disadvantages:
The normal hoplink takes priority over this link: therefore you will not get commission if your visitor has previously gone through another affiliate's hoplink

The link does not set a cookie: therefore you will not get commission if youre visitor later returns to the site without using that link

This is an unofficial link. It is not listed at the ClickBank site, so it could be withdrawn at any time (though the last time was back in *August 2002).

After you read the disadvantages, then you will understand why I am still seeking information. For example, I know that Keith Wellman talks about creating a one pixel in an iframe and this creates a cookie that will be placed on the website of the viewer.

This is what I would like to learn how to do. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had emailed someone that I look up to for their work and their tools, IM. Jay Jennings. Jay replied to me stating that there might be a slimy feel to placing cookies on a website. I hadn't thought of this process this way at all.

I look at it like the people who stated that you have to get permission from the affiliate to send my customers to the pay page avoiding the sales page.

I would like to hear others thoughts on this. I sure don't want to do something slimy. I was looking at this as a way to do smart business.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi, do you mean doing this:

    http://kroxas.example.hop.clickbank.net vs http://kroxas.example.pay.clickbank.net

? Because that would send them straight to the payment page, instead of the sales page.

    Hope that helps,

      Hi mike.

Formatting your link in the manner shown on this page will make any link
BYPASS the publisher's hoplink. That is, unlike usual clickbank marketing
where they follow your affiliate link and land on THE PUBLISHER's sale page
      because it is their hoplink.

This will work as long as their product name is ALL ONE WORD so that the link does not break

      eg. TheProductOnClickBank
      vs. The Product On ClickBank

      http://clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YourAffiliateID_vendorID/1/TheProductName

      REAL EXAMPLE
      http://clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YourAf...sXmasTrivaGame

If their product is not one word ( most )
the you MIGHT be able to leave the spaces or
put in % symbols ( percent ) . Never tried it.
      Try it.

Make your links that way and use BuUrl.com to cloak & track it.
Test both ways and see if they work.

        PART 2

        Well, actually Part 1

But the last part ( above ) is the most important.
If you can get that working, the rest is easy.

You can PAY AWEBER or ICONTACT or whatever... or...
basically you build a page with a FORM like on this page:

        http://www.refundhost.com/pdfdepot

But you just ask for their email and nothing else.
The page they go to after clicking the button is a REDIRECT script
that sends them to the BudUrl you created
which takes them to the checkout page.

If you want help, just copy/paste this into my webhost's
contact page above to tell him what you want done and
I think he could probably do it for you.

I think what you are asking for is this. But beware. With so many vendors starting to use exit pop ups, it creates a problem. When your visitor clicks the link to the payment page, the vendor page thinks they are leaving and the pop up appears. So be sure they don't have one. They also can't have audio on the site either or it will start playing on your page.

First you need to go to the vendors page using your affiliate link. Click the "Buy Now" button or whatever they use. Copy the url at the top and create a link directly to the payment page. Then paste your affiliate link into the script below.

<!--This is where your Clickbank Affiliate link goes-->

          <IFRAME NAME="vote1" SRC=" --your hoplink goes here/ --" WIDTH="0" HIEGHT="0" FRAMEBORDER="0"
          height="0"></IFRAME>

Paste the script anywhere inside the body of your page. It will drop a cookie.

WARNING! Clickbank frowns on this type of thing. You need to at least get the vendors permission, so he/she doesn't report you.

If you are willing to take the risks and put up with the hassles, go for it. But you didn't hear it from me. : )

In your example, is the product ID and the product name the same?
And if not, what is the difference, and where to we get this information from?

          Hi

          Regrets:

          Visit the product's checkout page.
You will see the name of the product ( Product Name )
Use that at the end of the link.
If there are SPACES, you may wish to substitute them with %
so the link does not break. Test.

Click the link in my sig.
          Go to the checkout.
          You will see FamilyNFriendsXmasTriviaGame

Then go to my AFFILIATES page from the homepage in my sig.

It shows you how to format the link in case the above is not clear.

I chose a product name that is ONE WORD ( FamilyNFriendsXmasTriviaGame )

...to faciliate this system and help affiliates avoid broken link issues.

I believe Scarob2 answered my question of what I was looking for.

I have read somewhere that Clickbank frowns upon iFrames. Is this correct? And by frowning, what I mean to say is that they don't permit it.

Am I wrong on this? Anyone know?

Also, if I get the vendors permission to do this process, are there any drawbacks? I don't want to get in trouble with Clickbank or the Vendor.

My whole thought process is to be ethical and try to have a profitable business. If this process is in bad taste, then I wouldn't do it.

All that I want is to keep the buyer interested in what I am selling.

My thoughts are that if you sell to a buyer and then in order to have this buyer pay for his or her product, they have to go to the Affiliate site landing page and be resold and asked to enter their name and email address again for the second time, my thoughts are that I would lose a lot of customers or buyers.

So I want to be ethical, and not step on any toes.

I would love any comments on this as to the best and most ethical approach to selling an affiliate product from Clickbank where I create my own sales page and capture their email address and then take them to the affiliate page to pay for the product.

    I appreciate any advise.

I never quite understood Clickbanks position on this. If a vendor has a great product, but their sales page sucks, it would be your your and their advantage to bypass it. You make money, the vendor makes money, and Clickbank makes money. It's not like anyone is getting cheated.

I have to admit that I just kind of glanced over Clickbanks TOS, so I may be wrong. I'm going by what others have told me. The best way to know for sure weather (or is it whether? I can never remember which is which :confused Clickbank allows this is to go there and read it yourself.

You are pre-selling the product, not selling.

Basically, as an affiliate, you're supposed to warm the prospect up and get them in a buying mood. The product vendor is supposed to close the sale.

If they have a weak sales page, then you should consider moving on to another vendor with a stronger presentation.

Don't worry so much about a person being sold twice. If you do a good job of pre-selling, they'll probably skim through the sales page anyway.

Of course, it helps you make more money when the vendor has a strong sales page.
