I'm starting a local job board for my area need some input please

My plan is to make a regional job board that covers my whole county. I found several domain names of cities within the county available that end with jobs.com for example wildwoodjobs.com

Now my idea is to register those names because they are short and very easy to remember and point those domains to 1 main site for the county. I was going to go town to town posting signs in the grass that say (city)jobs.com and that's all that will be on the sign. Then when someone types that domain in it gets forwarded to the main job site for the whole county.

I want to do this because the domains are so easy to remember and seems like an easy way to get traffic. If you live in florida and your looking for a job and see a sign that says floridajobs.com im pretty sure you'd type that in.

Does this sound like a good plan?

p.s. Would you register (city)jobs.com or jobsin(city).com what would be better? I think (city)jobs.com myself.

thanks

I think the main thing that you need to make sure about, is to get a host (doesn't have to be that reliable) that can provide the lowest possible bandwidth package as I don't think you are going to need much. . .

        I think you've got a real winner. I prefer cityjobs.com

Do you have your content covered?

        Just curious

I think the plan is good and prefere cityjobs as well.

If you are going to go down the route of the signs in the grass (and I'm not quite sure about this approach, but you know your market better than I) I think it would generate a lot of people asking "What is this about", so you should maybe follow up with a press release to community media (especially radio), and they may approach you for an interview. Community newspapers might not support you because your service could impact on their classifieds?

          Just a few thoughts.

            Hello,
I have been looking for a job on Craigslist and the most annoying thing
there is all the spammers posting jobs about doing surveys.
If you can keep that off your board you will have a winner.

            Something new soon.
