Aha! It Really Works - How I Got My First Subsribers! Step by Step

Hello Warriors,

I'll keep this short, because I know that there are already posts like this. But I need to tell everyone how I gained 10 subscribers in in one day on my first real attempt at list building.

That might not seem like many to a lot of people here, but the subscribers came only three days after I even registered the domain! It was even two days after I opened up my first Aweber account. Plus, it's my first try, so I'm excited that it's working.

It looks like the subscriber count will only keep going up, so this might really help some newbies who are suffering from information overload.

Here's how I did it:

1. I created a product.
I wrote out a quick report about how to work as a freelance article writer. It is about 10 pages long with some good information. But, honestly it's a lot of information that I have collected from PLR articles from fellow warrior Anthony Tilley who is hardcore.

2. I wrote ten articles
I used Google's keyword tool (Google it) and it helped me find ten targeted keywords that had less than 70,000 results in Google when I searched for them in quotes, like this: "keyword". Then, I wrote one article for each one and submitted them to my Ezinearticles account, which I just opened. After I got a domain in step 3, I then went back to each article and pointed a link in the resource box of each article back to my squeeze page.

3. I registered a domain name and loaded up a squeeze page
I got a cool .com from GoDaddy and I put up a squeeze page that took me about an hour and a half to write and tweak. I offered the product that I wrote in step 1 in exchange for a subscribers name and email address. Then, like I said I went back and linked my ezinearticles to my squeeze page.

4. I registered at Aweber
I created an auto-responder series by rewriting PLR that I bought from Anthony Tilley. Then, I put a subscription form on my website.

5. I created a WordPress Blog
I made a good looking blog using the WordPress platform. I just hosted it on my main domain so the blog's address was like this: http://www.mydomain.com/blog. Then, I rewrote my articles and loaded them into my blog. I published 3 right away and set up the rest to publish automatically 4 days apart.

I also put an Aweber subscription form on my blog.

6. I Bookmarked
I used social bookmarking sites to bookmark my squeeze page, my blog and my ezine articles. I actually still don't have all of my articles bookmarked because I try to only bookmark 3 sites a day to avoid looking like SPAM.

Most of my traffic is coming from Ezinearticles and social bookmarking. As we speak, I have 3 blog posts on the second page of Google for their respective keywords, so I'm not getting too much organic traffic. But, I'm going to continue to build links by making a squidoo lens, wordpress.com blog, blogger blog and facebook page that will all link back to my blog posts.

There is a lot more work to do, but I'm up for the challenge. The best part is that I have only spent like 20 bucks on all of this. If I can squeeze for 1 dollar on average from everyone on my list, I will make my investment back pretty quick.

Keep in mind that everyone in this forum has a different way of doing things and there are a lot of people that may have better methods, and some that may not be as efficient. But, since everyone goes at this differently, I thought that I would share my own methods and tell you that it works!

I wish that I would have started implementing the stuff that I was leaning here a lot sooner than I did. I got stuck reading EVERYTHING. So, if you take anything from this humble post, take this bit of advice from my own experience: Just quit reading so much and start... RIGHT NOW!
