Age restrictions...

This is really a question for the younger marketers on the forum, however if any older members have any ideas, they would also be very welcome.

Being of a young age in the internet marketing arena is beginning to pose a few problems for me, the most severe of which is the problem of age restrictions for certain sites/programs.

An example of this would be Paypal which requires you to be 18 in order to create an account. This is causing a big problem - how can I set up a payment processor within the terms and conditions of the site?

To make matters worse, it is not just payment processors that carry age restrictions. Many other sites that would be extremely beneficial to my internet marketing campaign are reserved for people at the age of 18 or over.

How do other younger marketers get around this problem of the payment processor as well as other sites such as affiliate program providers (paydotcom for example)?

    Hi Ali.

    First of all I would like to congratulate you for being an internet marketer at such early age. You will be better than 90% of other 16 year-olds who waste their time being a couch potato and playing video games. I started at 21, and how I wish I could've started earlier.

    I understand your problems, especially about the payment processor. I myself had some trouble verifying my Paypal account and signing up for Clickbank (my country Malaysia was listed as a 'fraud country' at that time), but by time they all got solved. My advice to you is, never give up, and in your case, I suggest you to find an older business partner, an older brother maybe? Or someone you really trust. Use all his details with his consent, and split the profit with him when you're done.

    You can always use other people details (someone you really trust eg. your mom, dad, brothers,etc)

    I just checked e-gold and moneybookers. It appears that e-gold hasn't been allowing new accounts for at least two months. Not a good sign.

    Moneybookers requires you to be 18 years of age as well.

    Looks like your best bet, as has already been stated, is to partner with someone older than you.
