Email Marketers: Is this a good open rate?

Hey warriors, I have a total of 800 subscribers, and with each mailing, I get around 190 opens, and 90 plus clicks. Is this good or bad in your experience? Thanks in advance for all inputs.

I'll be back..

Depends on what niche your in and how many emails you send out a week. I have been getting the same emails over and over from some marketers so I rarely open them. Unless they have a really catchy headline.

If you're in the IM niche, I would say this is a decent open rate. But it depends on several factors like,

    Quality of list,
    Niche,
    Headline,
    Your reputation,
    etc . . .

It's easy to think that one should have the same rate like e.g Mike Filsaime or Frank Kern, but that's not going to happen in a nano second. I think your rate is pretty good considering(I assume) you're not a super duper guru famous marketer. Keep delivering value to your list and both the opening rate and click through rate will go up ;-)

    Just my 2 cents

So many variables come into play that it's a bad idea to compare your rates with the general average others get. Compare within your own niche, if you can. Maybe tell us what your niche is and perhaps someone will chime in who is in that niche. Apples to apples.

In one niche where I have a comparably sized list (Adsense niche), I see an average open rate of 43%. But in another niche I only get about 15% opens, on average. So you can see that it really depends on the niche, among many other variables.

Here are my live email click through rates:

Case Study: Headline Click Through Rate

The table is at the bottom of that page.

You get 11.25% click through rate on average. I get about 12.5%. It's pretty comparable.

I think you got a decent click through, and your open rate is great..

In my case click through and open rate is around 15% both

I would consider 40% and above to be a decent open rate.
But again it depends on the relationship you have with the
list. Are these 'cold contacts' or customers? How long
have they been on your list? How did you build the list?

All these factors and others go into determining what's
a good open rate. And you may have great open rates
    and still get lousy CTR.
