Ezinearticles refuses to publish my article

Hey

I've just got a email rom EzineArticles saying:
"Your article MUST be informative in nature and must not contain excessive promotion or sales copy. In order for your submission to be accepted, please ensure it does not contain reference to your name, company, or product, and is not written as sales copy promoting the products and services of others. Such material should be included only in the 'Author SIG - Resource Box.'"

What other article directory do you recommend me? is goarticles or basearticles any better?

Dude, just write a better article. Don't try to PITCH stuff to people in the article.
They won't read it anyways. Give people TIPS and valuable information and then simply tell them - in your resource box - to go visit your site for even better information etc...

    It's not rocket science.

I agree with this completely. Just write an informative article that proves that you know what you're talking about. If it's extremely informative then visitors will want to click the link in your signature, which is, I'm assuming, what you want to happen. Writing an article that pitches something is a waste of your time, as people will not read all of it and just leave... no matter what directory you submit it to.

I recommend that you read the Editors guidelines for EZA if you plan to use it in the future.

As for me I've made a rating of article directories for myself and top 5 is:

    Ezine
    Goarticles
    ArticlesBase
    ArticleDashboard
    ArticleAlley

But I would recommend you to edit your article and resubmit it on Ezine coz it the best and it's not just my opinion.

It's a nice mug. It took me over a year to get one (just a couple of weeks once I got Platinum).

I've got about 300 articles getting loaded up in the next couple of months - and if I can't figure out how to get to platinum somewhere in the mix and at least get a mug out of the deal, I should just go back to slinging margaritas.

To be included in EZA, it is definitely worth rewriting articles... if you're hoping to attract quality visitors through articles.

The better your EZA articles, the more likely they'll be picked up by websites and ezines, providing you with free PR.

However, their articles usually must contain useful, unique content. My standard is, "If I wanted to know more about this topic and I didn't really want to spend a cent -- unless it was clearly a worthwhile, must-own purchase -- would I take the time to read this article?"

Also, to get links from authority sites, you first must establish yourself as a peer... someone worth linking to. EZA is a great way to get noticed, but you'll need to show that you really are a peer, and link worthy.

So, if you're serious about this kind of long-term marketing strategy, I suggest submitting multiple articles to EZA, so they see your over-all writing quality. If you only submit one and it's rejected, well... maybe another article -- a totally different one -- would look less self-promotional to them.

The flip side is: If you only want to grab traffic in a short-lived fad/niche, it's probably more important to get lots of backlinks quickly, and lower-quality article sites can achieve that. Don't waste time trying to improve your writing for EZA.

          So...

If your goal is to be respected in the field and build a reputation making you link-worthy, rewrite your articles so they appear at EZA.

Ifyour goal is to generate lots of fast traffic via here-today-gone-tomorrow ranking at search engines... quality probably isn't as important as quantity. Almost any list of article sites will work for that purpose.

On a totally different note: I had no idea that EZA now sends out mugs. I became a Platinum member so long ago, the little logo/badge for my websites was the big reward! Well, hey, I don't drink coffee anyway... *LOL*

I didn't get a mug Just got sticky notes a nice letter and a mousepad. I'd love a mug (can never have too many of those!)

And yeah make sure the article is informative. Don't try to spam. remember ultimately you're trying to build a relationship with customers and your list (you are building a list right?) So you've got to give good info and not just pitch.

I got a mug about a year ago! It's lovely. As for the OP's question - can he tell us a little more about the article that he wrote? What was it about?

If you write an article that pitches too heavily, as has been mentioned in this thread, people won't read it or click your links.

Would you dare post your entire article in the Off Topic section for others to comment on? You might learn something as well as pass on info to others.

Jill, I got Platinum with less than 10 articles

The mug is nice (I had 2) but Rob broke 1 when washing it. 2 sachets of coffee.

    What else can I say

    T Shirt (nice)
Fleece wearing it now ... lovely and warm
Mousepad, been to China, Thailand, Hong Kong, UK, France, Middle East and US.
    Notepads
and ... I can't remember if I missed anything out.

EZA is awesome and they are my go-to site when I want to publish an article. That being said, sometimes they will reject your article without much of an explanation, and re-submitting it probably isn't going to do you much good. So, submit it to articlesbase.com. That's another great site with looser restrictions, and it allows you to include links in the body of your article, unlike EZA.

Tips, DIYs, How to's, etc. keep it short but INFORMATIVE.

DO NOT pitch anything in the article body, save that for the resource box, which should be around 37 words if your article is around 300 words.

In the end, your resource box will look like it's part of the article. Also, build curiousity in the box, Ex: "did you know most dogs...bla bla bla... click here to the next page to see why:link"

Also, refer to other ezine articles to see what they're doing and emulate it

I agree completely. If you word your resource box right, the average reader won't be able to tell where the article stops and the resource box begins.

The only time I have ever had articles rejected was when I posted one to a blog without reference to the writer (me). They rejected it as duplicate content.

The other time was when I got lazy and tried rewriting a PLR article. They caught onto that real quick. A mistake I won't make again.

Just write quality content without all the sales pitches and you should be fine.

Just listen to the advice EZA sent you .. Do not try to sell but try to be informative instead. You can go to other article directories but many of them will reject your article also if it is too self promotional.

Just rewrite the article, post it on your own site and then submit it to 100+ article directories.

I would completely rewrite the article and take out any reference to anything you are selling. In fact, just delete the old article an do a new one. Don't resubmit. EZA puts you in a loop that you sometimes cannot escape, especially if you have been flagged on that article. So, just write an informative one and resubmit. It should be accepted.

I love my mug and would love to get another one. I hope one day I'll actually complete their 100 articles in 100 days HAHD challenge (another one starting January 1) and that when I do, they'll still give ouut special mugs ;-)

Another note about their alleged pickiness...

Actually, I find them amazingly forgiving in comparison with some other places. To the best of my knowledge, they do not censor topics (too much -- unless it's their pet peeves, which includes articles about PLR and similar topics, as well as some other topics they list in their TOS).

And they do accept articles (last time I checked) on credit cards, belly fat loss, toenail fungus, work at home, network marketing, and internet marketing in all its manifestations, which are topics that an increasing range of other places are censoring.

I've tried in vain to publish articles in certain places that EZA actually accepted.

For example, check out the list of taboos in USFreeAds.com and you'll see what i mean.

Ditto with Stumbleupon advertising (which will simply refuse to let you advertise articles on certain topics without telling you what they are -- they do list some but the range of topics they reject is MUCH broader). And their customer service is non-existent, for all I could tell, so you can't even find out exactly what the problem is.

EZA takes their terms very seriously. The article is the give part, where you give value not pitch, and the resource box is the take part. Just live with the terms you agreed to follow and you won't have any problems.

I got a mug. And then I was one of the first 100 winners in HAHD and got another mug....and a hat....and a mouse pad.....and this really cheesy felt throw. And that coffee from Door County? Well there's a reason why Wisconsin is famous for cheese and not coffee.

Yeah, you don't want your article to be a sales pitch. The idea is to write an informative article about some aspect of your niche, then link to your site in your resource box with a Call to Action.

If your article is considered informative enough, then it will get published elsewhere, giving you full credit and including your resource box, in tact. This syndication will give you long-term traffic over time.

    Best of luck!

If you write informative information with a catchy keyword rich title then you will have a lot of success. You do not have to try to sell something to someone in an article. That is what the resource box is for. Just give information about what you are writing about and you will have no problem publishing your article or getting people to read it.

I agree with everyone else. If I want a sales pitch I will go to your site. If I want some good quality information that will help me to some degree then I go to Ezine Articles or some other article sites. Plus if you don't have too much of a sales pitch in your articles you might have a better chance of getting published on someone else's page. Just a thought.

It happens several times and as it is their web page they set their own standards. Maybe exactly the same article is accepted from another service without problems
