HELP: Can't Integrate JW player with Amazon S3

2 replies
Fellow warriors,

I am trying to load a video from s3 on a squeeze page using JW player

I have done everything according to instructions given in JW player
knowledge base.

I even have set the ACL to read for everyone so that there is no problem
at amazon's end.

Yet when I try to load the player it says file not found or access denied
in the player window.

I have even tried JW player's wizard but the same error occurs

I know my share of HTML, so I know there is nothing wrong with the embedded code either
( since the player appears on the test page, but it doesn't run)

I am busting my head here...

Can someone help?

    When you set the ACL to Read for Everyone, had you checked the apply to all sub-folders box? That's where I once had a problem (forgot to do it).

    Other than that, JW Player has been working very well for me with S3. Here's the code from one of my embeds. Check yours against it for coding:

    ================
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://rocketproductcreation.com/video/swfobject.js"></script>
    <div id="player">Video loading ...</div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var so = new SWFObject('http://rocketproductcreation.com/video/player.swf','mpl','800','485','9');
    so.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
    so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
    so.addParam('flashvars','&file=http://drag38ywxuisg.cloudfront.net/SPRocketSteps.mp4&image=http://drag38ywxuisg.cloudfront.net/StepsFirstFrame.png&skin=http://rocketproductcreation.com/video/bluemetal.swf');
    so.write('player');
    </script>

    =====================
    Note: You have to upload swfobject.js and player.swf to your server.

      Kevin,
      Thanks a lot,

      You saved me...

      It was the same issue with ACL for subfolders
      for me as well
