Hey Adam! love the top part of the blog (w/ pic). I would, however, work on making the rest of the blog as catchy/entertaining. Have a wonderful holiday season!

      Sincerely,

      Sean Staub

I think that a clean design is good, but not too clean. Maybe you should try to increment your theme a little bit, add a sidebar with the categories and make it wider.

    Your header is very good!

It needs to be much wider. It's way too narrow and restricts what you can put on it. Since it's a blog, it really needs a sidebar with an optin form for some sort of free report etc. I'd say about 750 pixels is a good width.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm trying to avoid sidebars as much as possible. I want to keep the attention to the posts, without any distractions. I want them to be easy to read hence the simplicity of the layout.

I think the narrow layout is easier to read and focus on, that's what I find anyway. Hmm not sure about a sidebar yet but I've got the opt-in thing just below the header (I still need to work on the wording).

Thanks guys for your useful input.

I agree on this. Also, your contents will be more emphasized if they are wider - while the sidebars could include those free reports, ads, sponsors, etc. that'll contribute to your lists and traffic. Also, it's good to see that you have already gathered an active audience so emphasize those posts which became popular or "one of the favorites" while also recognizing the comments from these readers. These will boost more participation around as well.

      Good graphics there though.

    Hey man

I see what you are trying to achieve with the clean, focus on the posts look...

However I just think theres not enough there, I believe you have actually gone too clean and clear and to me it has a negative effect.

You say you dont want a sidebar but why ?

If you add the sort of content to your sidebar that is not a distraction then it will do good for your blog and the look of it.

So you should stay away from flashy banner ads or images that will distract attention but lets say for example you have a short 'About Me' section in the sidebar with a pic of you... Link it to your about me page for visitors to find out more about you

Try thinking along those lines ... I really do think you need more there

    Hope that helps

  • I would agree with the others that it will be a big help to add more or widen it. Given the subject matter and the level of MMO audience it appears to be targeted at I think it will really benefit from having some 'shiny' things to attract their attention and draw them in. The added benefit is that even though there are periods where you may not have time to update the site with new content adding those extra bits can still make it look active

I think it needs to say "I make money and so can you" and given how it is right now something is missing that creates that pull that will get them to do something. I think it would benefit also from some photos. Much of your potential audience could be people new to MMO. They may be tempted but so many people will have their friends telling them its nothing but a scam industry. If people can get the sense there's a real you and photos will help that might swing you those couple of extra buyers.

Just one other thing - will you be putting more buying buttons as it develops. The only one I could see was right at the bottom which could lose buyers if people decide not to explore all the way to the bottom.

    Hey,

Just a very quick thought: I think the "Extreme Georgia" theme featured on Smashing Magazine will be a great way to go (with your current header) if this is the layout that you want. Check it out here. Let me know if you need a hand in converting it into a wordpress theme.

From a buyers point of view the logo is perfect maybe your name could be a bit bigger. I agree maybe too clean - look at Yaro Starak - Entrepenuers Journey blog - He is considered as one of the top blogging earners alongside with Darren Rowse from Pro Blogger. I'm sorry to say that there is nothing to urge you to "buy". You want to make money do you?
