Need some advice on blog installation

Hi

I'm doing some blog installation and having a bit of trouble getting it done the way I want to. I'd appreciate any comment on what I'm doing wrong.

I have a domain www.mydomain.com

I've used fantastico and installed a wordpress blog in the directory mystuff so it's www.mydomain.com/mystuff.

I've password protected that directory.

I now want to install a few more wordpress blogs within that password protected directory, ie www.mydomain.com/mystuff/stuff1 ; ....mystuff/stuff2

I'm using fantastico to install the blogs.

Soo, what I've done so far is I've un password protected the directory, because I thought maybe that was causing the problem.

When I install using fantastico, it says installation location.

I put in the box for "install on domain" mydomain.com

Where it says "install in directory", I put mystuff/stuff1

I get the error message:

The installation can not be completed:
- No valid directory name provided.

I've tried using /mystuff/stuff 1 and a few other permutations.

How do I get around that? Do I need to create the directory stuff1 in the folder mystuff using ftp first? Is it possible to do this using fantastico at all?

Thanks very much for your help.

I don't think you can do what you are trying to do in Fantastico. You are going to either have to install WP manually, or install in mydomain.com/stuff1 and then move it to mystuff/stuff1 after the install.

Any reason you don't just install in mydomain.com/stuff1 instead of a sub/sub-directory?
