Have you ever used a Live Actor on your site?

Hey Guys

Has anyone every used a Live Actor on their site?

(You know, as soon as you open a site, this guy/gal comes from the side of the screen and starts talking)

Wanted to ask a few questions regarding this:

1. Have you used it in the Internet marketing niche a non-IM niche?
2. If you have used it, has it increased your conversions?
3. Any recommendation for a good site that does this, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

    From a point as a consumer, this has got to be the most annoying trick along with the chat client. For me it just screams spam.

    I promoted a product that had it and it converted like crazy a year ago. I made a pile of money with that site. It was a diet and weight loss site.

    But that was a year ago. I'm not sure if people are burned out on it, but I may still work.

    I think exit messages are working best now.

    Yeah I hate the "walk-outs" as we call them. We haven't used them in awhile and we have no data indicating that they improved conversions at all. But who knows. You may want to split-test it. I forget the name of the company we used but I know we paid $500 for it and we got a good deal. So you can expect to pay around that or a little more.
