Harsh Criticism Spam?

I always check for duplicates of comments on the web before approving them, but a harsh criticism that has word for word duplicates on the web is new to me. Here's the withering critical comment:
"I wish I could say I liked this post, but I don't. After looking at other blogs on the subject, I think this is wrong."

Just delete it, negativity is like cancer....it spreads.

Some people just cannot help but be negative. I would delete it and forget about it.

I always delete duplicate comments. I agree that negativity is bad. I have no problems with constructive feedback. That comment was definitely not constructive -- it didn't specify what was wrong. More weirdly, that particular negative comment seems to have been randomly sent out to a whole bunch of blogs, like a stray ricocheting bullet, so it is unlikely that the sender even read the blog post in question.

      Hi,

Some people are digital vandals - it gives them a cheap thrill spreading anonymous anxiety - pity them, but don't spend too long on it.

It's just comment spam and probably completely random. I've gotten similar "comments" on pages on my blog. How can a photo be wrong, for example?

Of course, it's easier for me to spot these things. Some of my blog posts are a bit nonsensical, so it's pretty obvious when someone "disagrees" with something I've said when I haven't said anything, or they "disagree" with my opinion when I haven't given one, or they think a photo is "wrong" and so on.

They probably just think a negative statement is going to get their comment noticed. For me, it just makes it a little easier to spot.

That is, of course, only for those rare ones that sneak past Akismet.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

there is a blog we use for testing, I receive all type of comments there... even when it is again a default blog with only one post.

I wouldn't be surprised if soon enough they start promoting a product:

51% of increase in comment approval by switching from nice comments to bad ones in your automatic bots.

Yep ... it's random comment spam. I've gotten the same thing.

I don't get it...seems like people would want to leave a comment that's a little more likely to stick! But hell I guess anything is worth testing...

I just got this in response to a blog post on "Equine Parasites" (exact same comment appears on numerous blogs):

"Thanks for posting this article. I'm definitely frustrated with struggling to search out relevant and brilliant commentary on this subject. Everybody now goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your succinct, applicable insight."
