JV ha ha what a joke!

Hi all,

So here goes, be carefull who you JV with. I had recently gone into a JV with a warrior on here. We were going to create a site and promote it with article marketing, and social bookmarking sites.

So I was asked to provide the domain name (No biggy only $10) Give or take..

I aslo bought bookmarkwiz to give it try out and see how it worked. Another $90 or so. I then bought a review style wordpress theme for another $49.95.

I also added it on my hosting account.

Then came the content part. I was told that we would buy 60 articles for $260. Which came to $130 each.

The warrior I was supposed to be working with told me to send the money to his writter. So I did, as soon as I sent it I was asked that we send another $10 each for a review to be written which I sent also.

Then agreement was that we receive 4 articles a day and we would rewrite the articles and submit them to differnt directories.

So nearly a week passes and still no content. So I message the JV partner to ask what is going on with the content. After a day or two he replyed saying that the writter was busy and that he will be starting soon.

I left it a couple more days then messaged again. He then said that the writter will send the articles the next day. (Which he did) Only he sold only 6?

I continued to message the supposed partner and he all of sudden would not respond. He finnaly did, and he the set up an ezine account for us both to use.

Whilst reading through one of the articles he submitted I noticed that the link was promting another site and not ours. I had been bookmarking all of these articles that were not even linking to our site lol

Yes I can see the funny side of that!

So then I was really pissed off, I sent some emails to the writter and some messages, and low and behold....

My partner was the one that screwed me over...

The writter told me that he was told that my partner was paying him for the articles when in fact it was me. He only recived $140 and that was from my paypal adress. He also was told buy the partner to send them directly to him and not me ....

I have been sent the paypal screen shots and the message between the two involved and yup my partner screwd me. Had me pay for his articles to promote his site and even made me bookmark and help promote it.

There really is one born every day

Thanks MATE!

Sorry

When I read a post like that I wish it was not against the rules to name names. That SUCKS.

The guy you were working with probably would have made a lot more money working with you rather than ripping you off but some people are just thieves out to make a quick score.

    Sorry that happened to you.

Do you have his email? Phone number? Address?

Honestly that is just crazy. I could see this leaving a sour taste in your mouth.

Its not the fact about the money, its the principle that hass annoyed me. Yes it is shame about the naming and shaming too. I am more annoyed that he was having me promote a site that was his with content I paid for. Not only that but the articles were not even $260 they were $210, the writter told me in his email. he will be quite on here for a while now I think all for a measly $100+ is not even worth it, it really aint.

I have his email, msn and all that mate yes. He is never online these days well that what his status says anyways...

Here is what the writter emailed me. I have taken all the names out ofcourse

      Hello,

Stephen, I'm sorry that we have been having problems. Allow me to explain to you what has been happening from my side. It sounds to me like your partner ??????? has not been completly honest with you. Originally, we agreed to $3.50 per article for at least 500 articles per month. Then, your partner disappeared for a few days. Then, I was contacted again by him and we decided upon $210 for 60 articles. He told me that he would send me $130 at that time and then the rest when I was half way done.

I was then sent 20 keywords to write over. I believe that I send 6 articles on the first day after I recieved the keywords. That was the 6 articles that you were sent. Then, ??????? told me to send the articles directly to him instead of you. I then sent 8 articles then next day and then 6 on the next day.

I was only sent keywords for 20 articles, I alerted him that I would not be able to write anymore until I recieved more keywords. He told me that he would get me more, and they would be written promptly. I delievered the last set of articles to him on December 12th and told him that I couldn't write any more until I had more keywords. Then, after 5 days of no response, he contacted me and said that I needed to rewrite a few of the articles and that he would be sending me more money and keywords soon. I did not jump on the rewrites because he had waited 5 days to get back to me and I had other work. Besides that I had no other keywords to continue writing more.

This is what I believe has happened. Your partner, ??????, told you that the two of you would split a $260 payment for 60 articles. Although, he had worked out a total payment of $210 with me. Then, he fronted me $130 from you and told me that it was from him. Then, after I wrote the articles, he would have only had to pay me $80 which is $50 less than you paid.

So, to wrap up. I only recieved one payment of $130 dollars from you that I was told was from ??????? (he also sent me a payment of $10 that he never explained, even though I asked him what it was for). I was given keywords for 20 articles and I delieverd them as I was told. I asked for more keywords so I could write more articles and I they were never delivered to me. I did write one review of ?????????????????, instead of two and that was my error. I must have misread the request for two reviews.

I have included images of conversations that ???? and I had on the Warrior Forum and through e-mail. I have also included a screenshot of my Paypal account to show you that I only recieved one payment of $130 from you and no other payment in the amount of $130. These images do not include our entire conversations, so I can send you more if you would like.

I assure you that I attempted to set up the details of our transaction before payment was ever sent, but your partner is very difficult to communicate with. He seemed to often forget what terms we had already set out and I often had to remind him of what we had agreed on.

Please contact me soon so we can get this straightened out.

Very sneaky of him huh. I just feel bad for hounding the poor writter

That is a real shame, so sorry to hear about it. I agree with Adam - it would be nice if we could somehow have a "blacklist" where verified scam cases could be submitted. But I also understand the reason for the "no names" rule, prevents slandering people without reason.

With over 166 thousand members the Warrior Forum has the population of a small city now. In any group of people that size you're bound to find an occasional bad apple.

Again I'm sorry to hear about this, and I wish you all the best in your future efforts. If any good can come of this it could be that other Warriors might have suggestions for avoiding this type of situation in the future.

      On the bright side:

You've learned a valuable lesson about JV's - always have the responsibilities and division of work in writing before you start...with a time line.

The domain is in your name and you have the hosting.

The writer seems willing to work with you to provide what you paid for.

Forget the loser and complete the project yourself.

This is about the fourth or fifth nightmare JV story I've heard and they were all WF members. Take caution when doing these JVs. Getting it in writing isn't going to help. Who is actually going to hire a lawyer and sue for hundreds to a thousand dollars?

I wouldn't know how to make sure you don't get scammed except that there's very few people that I would JV with. Be picky. Know the person as well as you can know someone on a forum.

Just feel good knowing that pathetic, low-life losers like this usually have miserable lives and never end up truly successful. Whenever a low-class scammer like this makes something successful out of their miserable existences, it's extremely rare. It does happen, but the odds against such a miserable creature ever being anything more than a petty thief are astronomical.

The last Warrior that I JVed with is now working for one of the "Guru's", still selling a couple of my books under my name and ripped me off for about 21K on the product launch ... at least according to the records I saw before I was cut off from the websites, email addresses and other information. Still, the Guru remains here occasionally, his new partners remain here and he remains working for the guru while I start anew. Try talking to an International Copyright attorney and they will not even talk to you unless you take out a mortgage on your home and sign promissory notes for your firstborn!

It sucks but it does happen ... but yeah, sometimes it would be nice to name names.

Although this guy may have made a couple of bucks (quid?) your integrity is worth so much more. Guys like this get known for what they are so I'm sure you'll be doing JVs long after this guy has worn out the welcome mat.

Seems to me as if you were fronting everything any way . What was the supposed jv partner to provide besides half the article money ?

You have enough content ( with what is still due you) to manage a doable campaign .

If you need any help with marketing the content or with coming up with more keywords , just let me know . I will help if I can.

      Hi,

Hey thanks a lot for posting this.

Maybe my jv guys dropping out was a blessing.

See this is what I am talking about when I say a little integrity goes a long way. The fact that it is another Warrior is not good but the positive thing is you can rise above it.:p I know i want to be advised of these people so I don't make the same mistake the fact is those of us who are paying members and active in the forum need to be able to check things out if we get approached or even if we approach someone else.I think we should have a section under the War room that allows us to .

I am very sorry it was another member here but as troy said lots of us on here don't have the grubber syndrome we are here to help and succeed as well.

I hope you have Much success in the Year/years to come.

Are JV's of this nature ever worth it? Infact I think any business without a single clear owner is going to have problems like this :-o (some exceptions to that rule of course...) Partnerships will always be thwart with problems, even if you know the other person really well.

    Rant over

    Sorry

If you really want revenge, just run some bookmarks for articles revealing what a "scam" his product is.

You could also contact his domain registrar and report him for "piracy" if your hanging onto the same product he is.
