Hi

I've just set up a business as an ebook publisher. I already publish my own ebooks.

I don't publish print books.

I am able to offer 2 options for writers

1. Self publishing using my own expertise
2. Via my publishing business

The first option is pretty straight forward contract wise - basically a simple one. However, the second option I feel (unless someone thinks otherwise - I always like to make my life simple) probably needs a proper contract.

Unlike traditional offline publishers I aim to be fair to my clients. The costs are virtually nill from my end so the author should benefit more than me. I don't think a print publisher would like me saying that.

Basically I offer:

1. Publishing ebook
2. Uploading to a specialised marketing site called ebrochures.com.
3. Free listing on my own site
4. Selling via a third party gateway (and my own ebook manager system) connected with the specialised site. People can try before they buy as well.

Unlike the self publishing option, I do not charge a fee and cannot give advances. However, I aim to take a percentage of the sales made. Not sure how much yet. The 3rd party gateway take a percentage as well.

From the authors point of view all they need to do is send in the manuscript preferabbly by email and I do the rest. I work with ther client in other areas.

However I want to ensure that both parties are satisfied.

As such, does anyone have a sample contract or know where I can get one from, which I can adapt.

I am based in Great Britain so contract law will be different from the USA etc.

Thanks
Steve
