My domain is blacklisted or not? Now what?

I run a traffic exchange www.my3wmarketing.com that sends member emails as one of its services. I login to day to gmail and suddenly see that all emails originating from the domain is in the SPAM folder, so I mark the emails as "Not Spam", but they are still getting into the spam folder.

I checked ran a check on several blacklist sites
- invaluement DNSBL Lookup & Removal Request Utility
- BLACKLISTALERT.ORG - Test if your IP or DOMAIN is listed in a spamdatabase and
- Lookup/Removal Tool | The Abusive Hosts Blocking List

andd see that the only two servers that the domain is listed on are bl.spamcannibal.org & zen.spamhaus.org,

But when I sent an email to my Aweber list containing a tracking link to the website and ran a spam assesment, the 2.5 score is resulted from containing a link to my3wmarketing.com and since I am subscribed to my own list with two different email addresses (one as whitelisted and one as not) the email that I DID NOT whitelist my email address never recieved the email.

What actions can I possably take to rectify this beyond putting a "This is not SPAM, you signed up to recieve email messages from..." disclaimer in the the footer of the emails being sent out?

  • It could be a problem with your host. I couldn't get info from the SpamCannibal site, but on the SpamHaus site, it looks like the blacklisting might be because someone else using that mail server was flagged as a spammer.

    If that's the case, then your options would be to have your host take care of the issue with their mail server. Else, you might need to move to a new host.

    • That may be it, because there are (I think) 3 or 4 other similiar sites running on this server. Just sucks that since one of them has tendencies to screw around, not only I, but others feel grief for it. :-P

  • Mostly ip gets blacklisted , better have dedicated ip if you are on shared hosting. dedicated ip hardly cost 2-5$ a month but it prevents your from such situation. and also prevent other shared clients on the same server if anything wrong is done from you.
