Congratz in finding WF. This is the best place to be! Getting started is hard because there are so many ways to make money online. This all depends what avenue you want to go down.

How about article marketing? Write lots of articles, submit to ezinearticles. Build a landing page (eg free blogspot) pre sell then link to affiliate page.

This is the most basic form of making money online.

    What area interests you?

I would recommend that you spend some time reading the various threads in this forum, and ask questions as they occur to you. Once you get some knowledge from doing that, you should get a feel for what interests you in the vast array of ways to make money online. Once you determine your primary interest or focus, then you might want to invest money into a course, either from the WSO section or possibly from Clickbank or someplace. You can probably make a start just by absorbing the informatiion that you can get for free on this forum though.

First, Welcome to the Warrior Forum, there are many people here that will help you with what you need to know. All you have to do is ask. With that being said, making money only requires one thing, WORK. If you are not willing to put in the work, then you are not going to make any money at all.

What is it that is confusing your?

The best way, I think to un-confuse you is, just think of internet marketing like checking out at a register at any store. The process is the same.

Just remember whatever niche you decide to take on, you offer REAL Value, to your customers. Even if you are promoting an affiliate product. That is the key to success. Other then that, there not even enough time or dexterity in my fingers to type exactly what to do, to be successful online. The main thing is just to provide real value and expect to work. There is no fast, easy income online. However, it is the funniest work you can do, and it pay's pretty well too.

Hi Nickolie0990, really appreciate your suggestion.I think what you said about offering people real value is right, I was wondering how I find out whether the product tha I am going to promote is good or not the other day when I was checking info on line.do I need to contact with the vender to find out the quality of the product?

It's a mistake to ask others to make decisions for you. Their answer will reflect what they know best and fits their experience and talents - but their answer may not be what best suits you.

The thing that kills most newbies is a lack of action. Just pick the thing that interests you most right now and start researching everything relevant to that one thing. It may take you two days or two weeks or two months depending on how much time you have and how fast you learn, but after that do something, even if conditions aren't perfect.

Newbies get paralysis by analysis, looking at too many different ways to make money until they don't know what to do. Truth is, there are a lot of ways to make money online, but they all require taking action.

Be willing to spend a little money on some good products to learn from, but don't just throw money after everything you see. I'd guess 90% of the stuff out there on any given topic say the same things in different words.

Then take action - I can't stress that enough - action creates experience and experience creates aptitude and aptitude creates money.

I fully agree with Dennis, and couldn't have said it better myself. My early IM days were wasted chasing every great idea and opportunity, at one point I was trying to monetize over 140 domains in a variety of niches. Wasted a few years until I smartened up!

You will succeed if you focus and stay focused. Learn the basics of course, but then find a plan that you can work with and apply yourself.

I wish you the best of luck and a a prosperous New Year!

Yes Dennis, that's why the only hair I have left is grey! And although my profile says that I just turned 50 last Friday I'm secretly only 21 - just didn't think anyone would believe it!

Happy holidays to you and your family

    wanroxy,

I am so thrilled that you're beginning Internet Marketing and you have already found the Warrior Forum! When I started I had absolutely no clue where to find the information I was looking for and I ended up visiting a bunch of insincere blogs, horribly written articles and tons of other reliable sources. Let me just reassure you, if you want to learn, you're right where you need to be.

You've already got one hurdle under you belt. This Forum is a fountain of knowledge and there are a lot of experts on here.

As far as your question goes, it's really difficult to tell you where to start in terms of affiliate marketing and creating a website for it, but I'll try

Step 1: Choose which Affiliate Organization you want to be a part of. The most popular sites are Clickbank and Commission Junction. Clickbank connects affiliates (like you) with vendors who sell informative products and solely digital merchandise (how to guides, software, website memberships)

Commission Junction partners with highly popular, already branded companies and sells items that people are already familiar with (Wal-Mart Items, Musicians Friend, etc)

Amazon is another popular affiliate program, and they give 5 or 6% of all sales you refer to them. It all really depends on which direction you want to go. I use Clickbank which sounds like it would be the weakest of all of them in terms of generating sales since people who visit your site have little idea of the seller's reputation and integrity.

Step 2: Set Up Your Website

If you want to promote affiliate products, you've gotta have a website! There are people who'll tell you that you don't need a website, and you can just spam out your link to various different internet blogs, etc.

The bottom line is that you must create a website and generate search traffic to create an auto-pilot income for yourself. If you spend all of your time sending out links, you're still working on a dollar per hour basis, which is not the goal of Internet Marketing. I'm rambling here, but the goal is to set up a franchise and let it bring in money passively. Ok, done rambling

I buy my domains at Namecheap, Host with Hostgator, and use Wordpress as my content management system. I'd go more in depth will all of these, but that would take a lot of time. These are subjects with a lot of information already out there. Do a search in Google

Step 3: Write Content, Learn to Keyword Your Articles

In order to generate traffic to your website and generate sales, you'll have to write content for your "Blog" you set up with Wordpress. This is pretty easy to do as long as you do keyword research. When writing articles and posts on your blog, think of what the average person would search in Google to find information on their topic and make that your post title. Also mention this term or "keyword" in your posts 5 to 6 times per 500 words in your article.

Also, Google Adwords External will show you how many searches a keyword gets per month. Research this too. It's a great tool.

    Step 4: Build Backlinks

Obviously there is a LOT to Search Engine Optimization, but to simplify it, it's all about backlinks. Google views every site that links to you as a "vote" for your site's quality. Get a lot of these sites linking to you, and you rank higher in Google. (Do more research on this topic as well as: Link Profiles, Link Velocity, Google Pagerank, Link Farms and Anchor Text Backlinks)

Step 5: Place your affiliate links on your site in the form of image banners, text links, or reviews of those products (It would probably be best to go for a positive review :p )

In my quick rambling, I'm sure I missed something, but this should be a good general overview of where you should be starting. Obviously you can buy domains from other places than namecheap, host with somebody other than hostgator, use another content management system other than Wordpress, and do other things the way you wish. This is what has worked for me though!

I hope this helps, and good luck in your Internet Marketing/Affiliate journey!

I'm sure what I missed, the other fantastic IMers on this forum will have you covered!

    Cheers!

      Find you passion!

Step 1st Choose a niche that you are interested in! To use the old Internet Marketing favorite, Dog Training (lol) if you have passion for that! Or if you love ermm, collecting buttons that.

Step 2 - Set up a "button collecting blog" drive traffic to your button blog and enter a conversation with your readers, bond with them.

Step 3 - Create a button collecting e-book, give it away in return for their email adress.

Step 4- Send them lots of good free button collecting stuff.

Step 5- Sell them button collecting stuff.

Now can I have my $1,997 please?

Best Wishes and a Merry Christmas

Wow guys, first of all I would like to say thanks a lot for all the great suggestions.when I saw all your replies I can feel how enthusiastic you guys are.It seems that I got a lot of work to do.what you guys said is right, the more I checked online about different ways of making money the less I figure out where to start with.
do you guys have any suggstions on what kind of course I should take.I just found a course named "site built it" on clickbank, it suppose to be a 10 days free course but I dont's see it very helpful, then later it turns out that I got to buy the course, I haven't bought it yet, there are too many kinds of courses on line, I guess I should try Karen's suggestion to try the 30 days' course first.
and another silly question. several of you guys mentioned I should know what I am interested in, I am not sure what you mean, does it mean which way of doing business I am attracted to or mean what my hobby is so I can try to promote products related to my hobby?

Internet Marketing is a broad concept with different subjects.. If you are to learn something from it, focus first on a specific subject which you feel you can learn easily.. Each section here in Warrior Forum deals with a different subject on Internet Marketing, just give yourself time to roam around and read through the threads.. I assure you, after lurking for about 2 to 3 hours, you'll have a basic idea on what IM is..

IM is also about trial and error, so don't be afraid to make mistakes.. You can learn more from learning from mistakes than learning how to avoid them..

    Good luck..

@wanroxy - you're most likely going to suffer from information overload and feel confused, tired, and exhausted if you chase after every IM technique and try to learn everything all at once.

You must first of all decide what you want to do. For beginners in IM the path can be generally broken into 2 main categories, i.e. Affiliate Marketing or Product Creation. Once you decide which path to take (don't make the mistake of doing both at the same time), then you can drill down further into the various other sub-categories within these 2, and decide what you want to pursue. Don't forget that you can also pursue niches other than the IM niche, and oftentimes that can be far more profitable than remaining exclusively within the IM niche, and this is especially true for the beginner who is trying to create a new product of his or her own.

    Hi and welcome.

First, I hope you know that the way you feel now is exactly how all of us in internet marketing has felt at some time or another. It is perfectly normal.

Honestly, there IS too much scattered information out there (some very helpful some not, but how do you choose, right?) I would highly recommend that you find a step by step process that guides you through everything you need to do to learn how to make money online.

There is only one person that I have run across that is totally trustworthy, genuine and has built an honest successful internet marketing business and is making 5 figures a month (and growing). I only choose to work with genuine and less "salesy" people who truly want to help me grow my business as well.

He offers alot of FREE information that will absolutely give you new skills and he also has a monthly membership that I do not think I will ever unsubscribe because he continually adds new content plus has daily accountability action steps that help you stay on task and work towards your goal.

I do not intend to sell you on this, I am just speaking from my own experience and felt that I should share with you. The saying "I feel your pain" is true when it comes to starting out. If you wanted to start out with over 20 FREE videos just to get a feel of what I am talking about just sign in to the website below. I promise you will save a great deal of time and frustration when you follow this guy. What I also like is that he just started this business less than 2 years ago (so he is not some guru with all these secrets that has built this empire over years of doing this) and is already making 5 figures. I just joined in October and my business is growing weekly.

    Good luck to you!
