Pardon this newbie question (sales/landing pages)

I'm pretty new with creating these (haven't had a need to) and I was just wondering what folks use to create the formatting for them, or the page alltogether. A lot of the sales pages I see always have all sorts of bulletpoints and, more curiously, the checkmarks you see all the time. Also, the highlighted text (which, of course, can be done with even the most basic wordprocessing program I suppose).

Is there some sort of software used for creating these pages and/or the formatting? If not, then how so? Take a look at any basic sales/landing page and you should see what I mean. I appologize for not having any specifics and if I have overlooked the obvious.

Please leave the high-brow sort of comments be. Just looking to clear this simple question up.

Thanks.

You're basically asking how to make a web page.

Not being highbrow or anything. Just sayin'.

Essentially, I suppose that you could argue that. However, I'm mainly just curious what is used to make the basic 'features' such as the aforementioned checkmarks one will usually see on your typical landing page. There isn't something that is used for the basic formatting of these ?

      Thanks.

Just have a play with Dreamweaver.. go to the Adobe website and register to get a free trial that lasts 30 days. - Or try and learn HTML and CSS

Yeah, I've already got a copy of Dreamweaver I intend to use as I learn certain things (I've got the bow, now I just need the arrows). I just thought there was an easier way to create the checkmarks and other particular pieces of formatting.

So, if it is all done from scratch, do folks just use images of checkmarks to imbed (I know that answer on the obvious level, hopefully you guys get what I mean)? This doesn't seem logical, given that I see a lot of very similar elements (appearance) in regard to the formatting on many sales/landing pages. I'm mainly talking about the same borders, checkmarks, highlights, etc you see on all these pages.

You can buy one of those packages of graphic elements that contain tons of arrows, bullets, checkmarks etc.

If I remember correctly, there's a WSO on wordpress minisite themes that offers one of these packs as a bonus.

I'll have a look when I get a chance. If you happen to stumble upon it, let me know. Thanks for the input!
