How Do YOU Create a BUZZZ about your product(?)

It was about almost 3 months ago when I had decided to set out on developing my very first product. Intriqued by the success of a gentleman named Pat Flynn (who made over $200,000+ in his very first year online selling his eBook!), I've maintained contact with him for that time, and he was very approachable and willing to answer any questions I had. In the early stages of my project, he recommended that I do everything I possibly can, throughout the development process, to generate as much of a "BUZZ" as possible....

With that in mind, periodically, I have been writing rather lengthy, detailed and transparent updates on the progress of my eBook Course. Because of it's nature, I decided to use the same platform that I will be launching the product to, to generate a buzz about it. While doing these updates, I have received many many comments, which has helped me to effectively gauge user interest in possibly purchasing ("Views" to the articles). Now, I know there is a BIG different between people "saying" they will purchase and actually purchasing, but, this strategy has helped me to generate ALOT of interest prior to the release of my eBook course.

Not only have people left comments, but they have found other ways to contact me directly to express interest in purchasing. Even prior to launching, I've had hundreds of people express interest already. At our current profit margins of each "package", because of this, I really believe that "prepping" buyers in this manner will easily result in at least $5,000+ in sales the first day. (We shall see how it goes...lol)....

I would like to provide a link to my eBook course 'status updates', but will do so later in the thread because I don't want it to appear like I am just spamming the board and community. I think we can all learn a valuable lesson from this.......I have written 16 progress updates so far, and readers have really expressed how much they have valued and enjoyed reading these updates.

My question is: What kind of things/techniques/strategies do YOU use, or have you used, to create a BUZZ about your product(s)?

Ok. So, to create a BUZZ, follow these steps:

Get a website dedicated to the status of the project.
Join twitter and follow as many people (so they follow you back.)
    Update their also.
    Then, BUZZ about your website.

Make a few "lite" versions of the course and use them to build a
    list. BUZZ them too, periodically.

Contact forums and blogs in your niche to add a link back to
your status site. Get some paid advertising.

And last, do not over-BUZZ. This will create a bad impression.

EDIT: 1 last thing. Signatures like yours will not do the trick,.
For God's sake, build some credibility.

I had set that 'signature' a while ago. I have quite a few other avenues established already that, when I wrote this post, I wasn't initially thinking of marketing solely to the Warrior forum Community. I may conduct a WSO down the road...

At the minimum, I project that this project will pull in at least $5,000 (more like $10,000-$20,000) it's first week. I don't appreciate your tone.

      1) I have secured a podcast, and have even had one specific influential blogger blog about me/my project, in anticipation of its release. He has 30,000 Twitter followers.

      2) I have upwards of 400 emails expressing interest in purchasing the product.

      3) I have established a great deal of credibility on several other forums.

I don't mean to 'brag' or be a jerk, but, I didn't like your tone either. Thanks for your response, though. My signature line here was the last thing on my mind.

I am really sorry if my "tone" hurt you.
I had a fight with my bro before writing the post.
I just vomited what I had!

Talking to the media has worked for me.

USA Today picked up one of my stories and BOOM, I've never seen anything like it before.. instant success.

And once you know how to deal with the media it's a skill that you can use over and over, make more contacts and more profits.

The great thing with media attention is that it spreads to other agencies quickly, bloggers pick up on the story, forums, and soon you're going viral from just a few phone calls.

DeanHunt is the King of Buzz. His blog is priceless.

One thing I've seen in regards to buzzing a product launch is the "OverBuzz" phenomena. They will come into a forum and starting the buzz. Week after week goes by and their still buzzing, but no launch. By that time, everyone is bored with your buzz. Buzz a bit ahead of launch and then launch, IMO. I get sick of seeing buzz post after buzz post and no product.

Think Viral! Think of something viral that you can do online and offline. Social Bookmarking to many social bookmarking sites is good. Try to rank well in the search engines for certain types of keywords that the people you want to target are searching for. Have your site come up first. You need to create something new to make your product look like it's the ultimate thing to have. I guess you could outsource but it costs money. But make sure you don't take too long.
