Hi Guys

My site hasnt been indexed for over 4 weeks now, I have unique articles posted everywhere. I just dont know what to do now. I changed the privacy setting to make it found by search engines. I have added it to google webmaster. I have only one dupicate content on the site which I uniqiefied, using Steve Fullman's WP Unique plugin, however I dont think that is the problem, coz many people have been using it without any problems. Please help guys. Is there a way I can sort of get indexed quick, I dont mind recreating the site if that would help. Please advice warriors, especially if u had the same issue before.

Thanks you

Have you bookmarked it using social bookmarking sites? Bookmarking normally gets mine indexed fast. It's not Steve's plugin ... I use it too and my sites are indexed.

Yes, bookmark, ping, and go make some backlinks.

I got a site indexed in about 2 days and it has Steves plugin.

Do a search in google like this : site:yourdomain.com and you'll find out how many of your pages are indexed..
If your site is not indexed yet, you should check have you changed your blog settings? Maybe it still has "private" settings, and you should change that!
Have you ping your blog? If you haven't, make sure you ping your blog, and do some social bookmarking

    Hope this helps

    Hi Warriors

Thanks for the feedback, I have tried all the above, I will keep on working on it. I thought it is a bit strange for it not to be indexed in such a long time. What will happen if I strip everything down and start afresh? will that work or will it be the same.
Alvo - when I type my domain name on google, it returns 23 results..

Since you have tried all the way you can try,I still think it's a little strange.Maybe just as you said, you can strip everything down and start afresh. That may work.Or wait for some more days to see what happened.

Go to the options setting in Wordpress.

    Now go to Privacy.

Then change the settings to allow search engines.

Wordpress blocks search engines by default, make sure you change it.

    So to make it clear:

Options > Privacy > Allow Search Engines.

    Hi Bless5
The internet tends to be unpredictable and often takes time to register what's out there. As they say "Patients is a virtue" I'm sure your site will get indexed eventually.

Did you submit your blog to directories, and your RSS feed to aggregators? If not, do that as soon as possible.

If you've done all that, I'm stumped. Four weeks is a long time for a blog to be unnoticed by Google. One other thing, have you checked the MSN and Yahoo directories to see if you're in either of those?

      Exactly!

I don't know how deeply you looked to find your site before you decided it wasn't indexed, but if a site: find is showing 23 pages, your site is in the index, you just need to dig deeper.

Here is a tool I use: Google SERPS Checker. It will tell you how far down Google has buried your site in the index, assuming it's even in the top 1000 SERPS.

How far down you are will give you an indication of how much work you need to do on on page SEO and bookmarking/backlinking, and it will tell you how important or unimportant Google finds your site.

Theoretically, yes. Your site should come up first, but putting it in quotes isn't a bad idea when you're doing this.

Another thing to consider. Google has data centres all over the world. When you type your query into google.com or dot whatever, you aren't guaranteed that you will connect to the same data centre every time.

It takes a bit of time for a new site to propagate through every data centre, so you might get different results on your query every time you type it in, since you might be hitting a different data centre. Eventually, all things will become equal... and then Google Caffeine will go live in a few weeks and things will change again!

Glad to hear that your site has come up in the rankings!

I remembered some links for you that are used to "Get your site indexed fast" Actually you can search in Google for similar things like that for lists of sites you can go through to add your site to that will help it to get indexed faster. Social bookmarking using "do follow social bookmarking sites" that actually keep your link there and don't remove it after a few days are a good way to get your site spidered from different domains. You need to keep in mind though that these are only a handfull of things you should be doing as a serious marketer. Not limiting yourself to just one thing but a bit of everything. Article marketing, Link Directory submission etc. Forum and blog posting as well which all should definitely be done and continued to be done to rank well for whatever keywords you are going for.

Anyway here's the link check it out and give it a go on your new domains.

Remember, Google is in the process of switching their data centers over to their new "caffeine" search technology. Some things, like indexing new sites, may have slowed down during the transition.

"The domain may be banned. Does anyone know of a definitive way to check?"
You must have missed it, Google does have 23 pages of the site in question indexed.
