A Bunch Of Clickbank Questions...

Hey guys,

I've created and sold a lot of products before, mainly used RAP/Paypal for JV's and payments...

Anyway, I'm doing a Clickbank launch. I've promoted CB products. I've written copy for plenty of them, this will be my first launch though.

The product is solid, the copy will be continually tested and optimized, and I'm excited as hell about it.

So, here's my questions...

1. I plan on doing a lot of promotion myself, but obviously want a lot of affiliates... I'd like to have affiliates send visitors to a squeeze page, I know 100% that this will convert better. I understand a lot of affiliates have problems with this. If I'm not stealing their hops, and I'm helping their conversions, what's the problem?

2. Regarding #1, if affiliates insist on sending traffic directly to the sales letter, is there a way to give them an option? One link to squeeze, another directly to the copy?

3. I'd like to be able to communicate with affiliates... No sales pitches, just ideas for keywords, good places to advertise, etc... I'm thinking an opt-in page in the affiliate tools area, with a little explanation of why they should sign up. Thoughts on this?

4. Is there a good way to build a customer list on CB WITHOUT making the customer opt-in to a list after purchase? I've got some ideas on this, but would love to hear some of yours...

5. Assuming conversions are higher than average (I'll be testing and tweaking before a full scale launch) would affiliates mind a 60% payout vs. the max? I mean, if the average $67 product converts at 1% and mine converts at 3%, and I have stats to prove it, and the earnings per hop are higher, wouldn't that make sense to affiliates? I'm considering going higher on the front end payout but the back-end product details are still in the works.

I guess that's it. I want to pre-sell through email. I want to build a buyers list. I want to help affiliates in anyway possible, and I'm curious about the payout %...

Just FYI this is a very unique product in a competitive niche, but no one has ever taken this spin on it before, I'm pretty excited about it.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

-Scott

  • I wouldn´t promote something with a squeeze page. How do you intend to pay them? Presenting a One Time Offer after they subscribed? If not, what if somebody buys something after email no.10, do you still pay the affiliate or do you still know which affiliate brought you this customer?

Anyway OTO or not, for me as an affiliate this does not sound attractive.

I hear that mentality a lot...

When you send a visitor to my squeeze page, Clickbank cookies you. They know you sent that visitor.

When the customer receives the email sequence, and click through to the site and buy, you get commission.

The big fear I think is that vendors would hijack affiliate commissions through emails. Not only is that an incredibly stupid business practice, but it'd be easy for affiliates to detect.

Affiliates could just sign up to the squeeze page and monitor the emails to make sure the vendor isn't stealing hops.

I do get why people are afraid to do it though.

    Thanks,

    -Scott

You can have the CB order page lead to an sign up page instead of a download page. Tell them they get a free bonus, upgrades, etc. by signing up. Just put a "no thanks" link below the optin form so they can still download without opting in if they want.

Example: sales page --> order page --> signup --> thankyou/download page

Below I have a example of the what you are trying to do and what I think you should model for your launch. The product is by Michael Jones and is the affiliate code, I am not promoting nor are these my affiliate links for the affiliate code.

As of today this product is #1 in the Marketing & Ads category on clickbank and #2 in the Money & Employment category, so you know this product converts.

This is the sales funnel that I think you will want to model for the best conversions and most sales, learn from other successful product launch's
and this was a successful product launch.

1.Squeeze Page - http://www.theaffiliatecode.com/ he has a squeeze page set up then you opt-in and get taken to sales page

2.Sales Page - The Affiliates Code - Underground Super Affiliate Spills His Guts
He also has a floating opt-in box setup on the sales page in case they land on the sales page first.

      3.Affiliate Opt-inPage - Affiliates - Make KILLER Money

@ Alexa... You're too damn smart for your own good... Seriously, can't say enough about the feedback. You rock. You're awesome. Great advice.

@ DeerTrail... I'm well aware of this approach, although I really do appreciate the suggestion... I want 100% of my customers on a list, and I know for a fact that pushing a 90%+ opt-in rate after purchase would be nearly impossible... But it's an idea I'll kick around.

@ Chris... Funny you mention it, I looked through that entire site before posting this. Great example. Thank you.

@ Alexa... You're too smart for your own good Why do you always have to make me think? I REALLY appreciate the feedback though. You give some amazing insight.

    Thanks guys,

I run my CB affiliate program through Easy Click Mate, so I can supply my affiliates with different kinds of links. On my affiliate resource page, I give them the option of sending traffic to my squeeze page, or directly to my sales page. Click on my signature to see what I mean...
