A MicroNicheFiner Related Question

I've been doing a little keyword research with MNF and have only recently updated with the newer version that includes the Measure of Backlink (MOB) feature. I've run across a number of key word combinations that have relatively high search volume (50K+) and high (500+) Strength of Competions (SOC) values but very low MOB.... (10 to 20)

Was wondering if ranking high for these terms is doable.

    Hi Chris,

I have been working with MNF for the last few months and have found a lot of little inconsistencies in the reporting..the best thing to do it to look at the competition yourself. Look over their sites and see how strong they are....and then make your decision..

    Regards,

Thanks Barry! I appreciate that. The question is more philosophical though... than MNF specific (although I didn't ask it that way). Let me try again....

Suppose I find a keyword for which there are a LOT of webpages that exhibit exceptional on-page SEO.... but they don't have a lot of backlinks. Do I have a chance of getting to page one of the SERPs?

Does that make sense? Am I missing something?

I used to be a die hard fan of MNF but lately (within the past 4-6 months) the glitches and like Barry said, the inconsistencies have made me revert back to good ol' fashioned manual research and I can say I've been much more successful with the latter approach.

I've been hearing alot good things about MNF. I think I'm going to give it a shot. I usually wait till I start hearing good things about a program before I jump into it.

Thanks guys!!! I realy appreciate all the advice.

mikeb209... I really like MNF... Not sure what inconsistencies Erik and Global are talking about. Maybe they will come back and elaborate.
