Google friendly instant redirection

Hi guys,

I developed an affiliate website that ranks high in google but
the conversion from my site to merchant's site is not good.

So I am thinking about redirecting visitors to the merchant's
site. At least for some time, to see if it would work better.

The redirection should be instant, so that the visitor doesn't
see my index page at all. The page I want to redirect from
is a static html page, so I need a piece of code that could
do the above for a static html page.

I hope that you who are good at programming can give me
that piece of code or some kind of solution.

Then I have another question that I hope you can answer.
If I redirect my index page that has very high ranking in google
how will that affect my ranking? Is there a way to redirect
without losing ranking in google?

So I hope there is a way to do instant redirection that doesn't
affect the ranking.

Almin

I've never heard of anyone wanting to do that, but I'd guess any kind of redirecting from your index page will kill your site's ranking. I wouldn't do it. I'd look for ways to improve the click-through rate.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Dennis, you are probably right, but I got this thought in my mind
because I saw some high ranking urls in google results that just
plain redirect to other site. So I thought maybe there is a way
      to do it.

      Hi Almin,

      1) Sooner or later google will notice and you lose your ranking. Then you have no one to send to the affiliate site.

      2) Here's what I would do: Rather work on improving your site so people click through to the product homepage. The purpose of your site is to pre-sell the aff product.

      3) Consider using the well ranking page to build a list and send people to the aff product through email marketing.

Hi Ralf, good to see you.

I was also thinking about the list building option you
suggessted. That would be a good strategy.
