How do you select your KW's for your videos?

Hi there and Happy New Year!

I am planning to do some video marketing for a campaign. I know the idea is to get these vid's on 1st page of google.

1. I generally select KW's for articles under 20,000 and many times under 10,000 competition. Would you say this is the way to go for KW's for Videos??

2. If I type in a good searched for KW in Google and see no YouTube's on 1st page for a good KW, I guess these are good KW's for me to go after?

3. If I see 1 or 2 YouTubes already on 1st page, is this a no go? I mean I know for Ezine for example Google will only rank two ezines per KW search so generally I wouldn't bother, I would move on and just find another KW.

Please if anyone can offer any advise for selecting KW's for Videos I would be very grateful as this is a new area to me.

I use this tool - https://ads.youtube.com/keyword_tool to find what people are looking for on Youtube.

Oh really? Wouldn't you rather have one of your website pages that contains that video on page one of Google results?

You can use the key word tool provided, but also check the forums and Yahoo Questions to find out what questions are being specifically asked about the content you are creating. Take the best keyword and title an article using that exact phrase. Turn that article into a blog entry and embed the youtube video on your blog. Add the relevant tags to your post and then link to it from Twitter, Facebook, SideWiki and Blogger using the your targeted keyword.

thanks everyone for your comments,

Marty, would is the benefit of having videos on your website? This is all new to me, would it be to help your website rank better? I guess you can only put one two video's on your sales page using a couple of keywords? I am planning on churning out many videos hoping to drive traffic to my website.

Any further info or advice would be appreciated.

  Hello,
  Which is better? Uploading a video to your host and embedding it in your blog post or uploading your video to YouTube and then embedding the YouTube video to your blog post. Does Google prefer one method over the other?

  Always better to use Youtube. Should be your first choice for hosting because of the potential exposure and traffic.
