Hi

Year 2010 has arrived promising lots of hopes to everybody. Its the time to take stock of what we could or could not do in the year gone by, and to start life on a new plane taking into account our past shortcomings and trying to improve upon them. And what better way than to start it by sharing my recent experience.

Recently I bought a $37 WSO on site flipping claiming to make me $4900 per week just by developing sites based on PLR content in just 30 minutes.

As a result, I developed a site on the organic foods niche, primary keyword eating organic foods. All the efforts were done in 15 days. Though I do not know what I can expect by selling this site, I would like to share the efforts I put in and the results. I would be more than happy if this information can be of some use.

Keyword results - First page of Google for 10 keywords (ranks vary from 5 to 10)
Backlinks - 250 (based on the tool used, results vary from 214 to 270)

Pages indexed in Google - 188
Pages indexed in Ask.com - 687
Pages indexed in AllTheWeb - 223
Pages indexed in Altavista - 223

Efforts
Site submitted to the big ones-

A few submissions more-

Article submission-
3 articles submitted to ezinearticles, the same article submitted to few other article directories as well.

Profile Creation-
A profile related to the site has been created and submitted to 60 sites (Thanks a ton to a free wso by a fellow warrior deluxeedition. You can find his Sick Profile Maker wso here)

The site has been submitted to 25 social bookmarking sites using onlywire.
It has also been submitted to a few others like:

Netvouz - Online Social Bookmark Manager - Save, Tag and Share your bookmarks
TagTooga - Discovering and Organizing the best of web

The list is only indicative. I am sure that the results would steadily improve as more and more of the efforts start giving results.

My intention of bringing out this information is only to emphasize that it is possible to achieve results even by following the basic steps. I would be more than happy if it can be of any use. These are nothing new but may help those who are just starting out. Irrespective of the fact what this site goes for, it surely has helped me come up with a easy to follow steps, which I can replicate it whenever I decide to apply it to another site.

Kindly ignore this if you feel that this is of not much use. However, if you find any merit, feel free to use it and increase your site rank.

I'm not being funny - but quoting Alexa and PageRank isn't showing results - did your effort make any money - that's what matters. If you do all that and don't make money, the rest is irrelevant.

The point here is not whether my site made money or not, but the fact that if you take these steps you are likely to get higher search engine rankings, which will get you traffic. Once that happens, money will usually follow. The amount of money you make will depend on the quality, or otherwise, of the site.

It looks like you have been writing a fair amount of content in a short period of time. 188 pages indexed in Google is a lot for the age of the site. Did you write all original content yourself?

I have written 20 articles for the site, and 2 articles for ezinearticles.com. Since the site is primarily amazon targeted, rest of the posts have been made using an autoposter. That is the reason for the large no. of indexed pages in Google.

Congrats on your page rank and position.

Someone else asked and I too am curious. Have you made any money as of today?

With your position, what was you traffic in December?

I ask because a couple months ago I built several Amazon sites. One is #31 in Google and +- #3 in Bing. One of my others has had similar results and positions.

I actually finally made a sale through Amazon just before Christmas. I believe my commission was $.74. According to Amazon it took almost 300 clicks to get it.

Because I know someone will mention it, thank-you by the way.

I am building more backlinks.
I am writing articles.
I am rethinking my keyword selection.

As far as my traffic.
#1 site. Setup 11/20/09. 2nd post made 11/28/09. 487 visits
#2 site. Setup 11/12/09. 2nd post 11/22/09. 189 visits.

Why the difference? I'll post a thread to explain and ask questions. I don't want to hijack this thread.

Again, congrats on your results. Please tell us your traffic and if you made some money.

Ranking is not agood measure of success as compred to $$$ simply because I could rank highly for "green pigmy monkey pen mugs" but that would not make me a dime.

If your stats are not showing dollar earned or even traffic levels, then they do not really say much.

Your site rankings could vary, depending on the searchers location and the introduction of "personalized search". One of my sites shows #1 for me, but # 12 for others in a very competitive market. Just my 2 cents.

Also the info you offer is appreciated and anything to boost overall organic results is worth it in my opinion.
