Outsourcing Questions???

Happy New Year to All,

I need some help here. I am coming up a product on "How To Outsource Effectively" with Eric Louviere. So I would like to know what are the questions internet marketer would have when he/she wants to outsource a task, or what are the problems he/she faced when trying to outsource a task.

I want to help people to know how to outsource effectively, so I need questions from you guys. Eric Louviere has done tons of outsourcing, so he will reveal how he does it.

This is the first time I am partnering with him, and hope to see good result.

Hope you guys will help me out.

    Happy New Year! =D

I haven't done much outsourcing but off the top of my head here are some questions:

    Where do I find outsourcers?

How much should I pay them? Should they be paid for different tasks?

What's the best way to communicate with them?

How do you manage your outsourced workers? How do you keep them performing their tasks on time and efficiently?

What's the best way of approach a worker?

When do you know if you're ready to start outsourcing? What are the pros and cons, and why is it so valuable?

Anyways, that's all I've got right now. Hope that'll give you some ideas to get started on your product.

How do you prove someone really is in India or the Philippines or wherever?

It seems like it's a thing of prestige nowadays to tell your friends you got allll this work done for $150 or something. And, it can't be from someone in the U.S., you have to also include that you got the work done from some foreign land.

So, if that's what's so important, you better have a qualifying question for your product so that you can be assured you're working with someone out of country so you can tell all your friends.

After all, I could always put whatever country in my elance or rentacoder profile, but who would know otherwise that I'm really in Chicago?

Want to learn about outsourcing? Figure out something you need done and outsource it.

        Then you will understand...

Regardless of what anyone one says. It is the luck of the draw until you see how they preform the job.

References can be faked, they can claim they made sites and did things that they did not.

There are tons of outsourcing firms and places you can hire people. Where they live is not relevant. Can they do the job correctly,on time at a better price than you could get locally?

        That is the only issue.

The idea that you can do it all the time with new people, who you do not know, and not get ripped off once in a while, is a total fantasy.

Always paying after the job is done is also a total fantasy. How do they know you are not going to rip them off after they do the work? It works both ways.

Outsourcing firms (like odesk) have your credit card number and only charge when the job is done. That is your best protection. Best pay for the project and not by the hour.

But to always expect everything to go smoothly is a dream. They can technically fulfil your request and get paid but that does not mean you will always be happy with how things went or the results you get.

You will pay a lot more with a firm than you will with an individual. What card are you going to play?

So how lucky do you feel?

        Any more questions?

This makes zero sense. Why would you CARE if the person was really in Chicago so long as they are doing the work that you give them, and doing it well.

Why would anyone from chicago want to pretend they are in a 3rd world country and charge two bucks per hour?

Ive done some outsourcing when things got a little to hectic. I always want to know the price, and most importantly what their experience in the field is. Maybe even have a glance at their past work. Also can I get in touch with them in a resonable manner.

One of the methods I use when finding Virtual Assistants, not just for outsourcing a single task. Is for the first 30 days, I have them send me a very short report with the answer to three questions.

    1. What they got done today?

    2. What were the problems they encounter today.

    3. Do you have any questions for me?

After 30 days, Then I know if I have hired a good VA. I think the biggest thing to get a handle on is, effectively communicating to the person you are outsourcing the work to, of what exactly you want. I have had horrible outsourced work before and I have great work done.

This is EXACTLY the format I use with my workers. Except 3 is more worded as "Is there anything I can do to help make your job easier".

It works very well. We call it the "daily email". Highly recommended, and I agree that you'll know quite quickly how good the communication is. I have two people and one is MUCH better at communicating via email. The other is passable, but I need to get him to be much more specific with his language.

India and Philippines - great places to out source tasks. what you really have to look out for is unfinished business / transactions as they are a pain to complete. Good luck and go for it.
