How to send traffic to a giveaway event

INTERNET MARKETING

When you are a contributor to a giveaway event, you are supposed to send traffic to that event. How do you do that for free?
Writing articles? If yes, why not writing articles that point to your own giveaway event, the one where you are the owner, not just a contributor?

The main purpose of a contributor is to get more subscribers, for free, right? But, if you have no list yet, how do you promote that giveaway event?

  Add your twitter ID to everything - email signature, blog, forum signature, auto responder, free products, free articles, paid products, etc

I started to do it through my list as a way to grow my list. I know it's very chicken and egg but it isn't hard to build a small list with blog comments, forum signatures and articles.

Slow but a start... then JV giveaways build on that momentum...

Hadn't thought of the Twitter route... I'm a bit slow : )

Giveaway traffic is a bit of a catch 22.

You need subscribers to send traffic.

You need traffic to gain subscribers.

My thought, in that situation, is to stick with the giveaway events which let you pay money in place of sending traffic. If nothing else, it shows that the people running the giveaway have some common sense regarding the user base that they will attract.
