hello, i'm new to this whole internet marketing thing and was just looking for a few tips to get me started. I have a few products i have in mind that i'm going to promote and plan to mainly use article marketing at first to promote these, later moving on to other forms of advertisement if i find these to be profitable niches. I was looking for any tips on how to get started, how to get keywords, backlinks ect. If anyone could give advice it would be much appreciated and please go in depth, being new i only vaguely understand what most people are talking about. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help!

I agree with dozierdd, but have in mind that if you are thinking about article marketing, Keyword Research is crucial so study that before writing and submitting articles. Its really easy, I say study, but it takes just a couple of hours to understand it, although it takes practice to fully dominate it!

    Hi Pete,

I understand how you feel. When I got started it was a little overwhelming. There is so much information out there and so many different topics related to Internet Marketing that it will take time to master all of them.

Your question is a little too broad.

What I recommend is that you go step by step. You mentioned you already had a product. For beginners most people start off with Affiliate products, those are products that other people created and you get a commission from promoting and selling them. On of the most popular affiliate sites is clickbank.com You can choose a product to resell and they send you a commission for every product you sell.

You mentioned you wanted to use article marketing to promote your products. You might want to start with that until you master it. It is a great way to get traffic to your website. Article marketing works best if you have your own website or blog not so much for affiliate products unless you sell them using your own website or blog.

I would stay away form the automated article marketing submission sites because it is always better to submit them yourself to the big article sites.

You can find alot of free information on Youtube or search google and read as much as you can about article marketing.

    Hope this helps.

You can't learn internet marketing in one sitting but i will advice you combine numerous methods of marketing such as blogging, forums, SEO, directories for back links.

Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and search for your chosen keywords.

There is loads of great information here in the WF, and I suggest that when you have a question that you use the Search function before asking it. You see in 99% of cases it has been asked and answered well already. This is the same advice that I would give for any forum.

One of the most highly regarded internet marketers today, James Schramko, has a sensational paid membership mentoring forum, SuperFastResults (of which I am a member) BUT he is offering 14 days access for just $1 (usually $97 per month). This is not available via the regular forum access page, but by private invitation. I am not sure if I can post it here, so PM me if you would like the link.

    hi pete
if you've never done any of the keyword research / backlinking stuff before, then do search through the forum to find really detailed advice. meantime, if you've already got some products you want to promote, I'd start out with Google's keyword tool. Check out the number of searches each month using exact match filter. If the products you're going to promote have a sales page, then use the 'website content' option and paste the url in. Google will tell you the best keywords.

Then you need to check out the competition. Do a search for those keywords and see who is on the first page. Can you beat them? If not, you need different keywords?

I created a video a long time back when I was just starting out on getting backlinks to your articles, or anything else for that matter, using RSS. There have since been much better explanations and walkthroughs but this one will show you how easy it is and will be enough to get you started.

    Hey Pete,

I was looking for any tips on how to get started, how to get keywords, backlinks ect. If anyone could give advice it would be much appreciated and please go in depth, being new i only vaguely understand what most people are talking about.
I think you will need to use the search function here to drill down into what you are looking for and that is in detail. This can be especially helpful if you use the advanced function. Just go back to the top of this thread and you will see the Search and click on it. Once the drop down menu comes up click on the advanced search link.

Type in the words "keyword research" and you will get 100's of threads on how to do this. The same goes for "Article Marketing".

I strongly recommend doing this before spending any money on WSO's or perhaps even before spending the money for the War Room. As the above poster "imarketingsuccess" suggested focus on one thing at a time. Master it and then move on to the next step. Focus then the next step. Focus then the next step.

If you already have a few products picked out to market, your own or an affiliate product go do your own keyword research to start writing your own articles for marketing the product.

Now as far as a free keyword tool, you go here to Google's https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and follow the directions for finding your keywords.

Hope this helps you a little bit.

P.S. Folks you need to remember Pete is new here to the forum and until he gets his post count up, he cannot PM. So he will need to ask his questions here in this thread or in other threads.

One of my mistakes was to write articles that didn't target buyers... Until I started to notice that 90% of my sales came from only 1 or 2 articles.

I just put 'best' as part of the title.

    PeteJ,

Now here is the best hint about using the Warrior Forum to get started in your Internet Marketing Forum and it involves proper etiquette in the use of the forum.

When you post a question you should take the time to come back in and acknowledge that you have read what has been posted. You can do that by making another post and saying thank you to those that have posted or you can use the the thanks button. But make sure you only use the thanks button when you determine the information has been helpful to you.
