if i create backlinks before i have my website up....?

so i have about 10 backlinks already to my domain, but i havent put up my website yet, will this hurt me or will they just give me tha juice whenever i have the site up?

    There is no harm as far as I can see. I can't imagine it could hurt

      Hi Power Blogger... Welcome to the forum..

      Won't do any harm if it's only a few natural links but
      I wouldn't go out of my way building too many links
      to no where.

      Get a little content on your domain 1st would be
      my recommendation.

        I would agree with Ross...get your site up with a little content at least so google can start to spider it and get it indexed.

    links to what exactly?

    People are searching for content.

    Why would a search engine bother indexing something based simply on a domain name that goes to ... what? A parking page?

    Throw up a blog and start dumping in relevant articles from article directories. That will get you something to back-link to, and the SEs will have something to actually index.

    Unless someone can show there's some value to indexing a domain name with no content behind it, I'm not going to believe it.

    Well the bots may not come back your site again. When you get your site up, make sure your ping and bookmark your site one more time.

    This will send the bots back to your site to index it again.

    That's what I did back in Dec 2008 and here's what happen.

    I wouldn't build any more backlinks to your site until it's up, because if the spiders come, they may not like it that nothing is there.. I dont think 10 will harm it, just wait until you have content up, to build more..

    It is advisable to put your site up(even with just a single page) first before doin any backlink building.
