How to beat your competition for search engine positions

Hi,

What kinds of tools/services (free is good, but paid ok too as long as it`s good quality) do you guys use in order monitor your competition? I.e., everything from keyword tools, to search engine promotion, etc, in order to rank highly?

    Google's keyword tool, matched with proper analysis on ranking
    websites is a pretty good tool.

    As for other things like knowing the keywords used by the ranking pages..there
    are definitely some available tools..

    competing is very aggressive and is therefore unproductive..

    I do not waste my time on monitoring competition ... If you do then you are taking away from your business, you could spend that time writing more articles, creating more backlinks, being social in social media sites, posting on your blog, and etc ...

      I honestly could not tell you where I am in relation to any competitors that I might have.

      I do not think I have competition. Most people would not go after my niches.

      They would say I have not done my marketing research.

      Hilarious, considering how much I am making now. And it keeps growing.

      Search engine position means nothing. Sales mean everything.

    For spying on competitors, I use 'Traffic Travis'. It's really beautiful tool analyze the competition and gives your detailed report.

    Keywords etc are important however they are just the terms that people enter to find your content.

    Your content and the regularity that you add it is far more important as this is what people read and bring them back to your site time and time again.

    YOu can get decent amount of traffic with Article Marketing ALONE, even your site isn't ranking well in SEs. Don't only focus on traffic from search engines, when you get outranked by other competitor, it is good to have an alternative traffic source such as article directories.
