Sign-up for that first month with a debit for only $1 get ur list up from the free give away sell to your list with each message (yea its annoying but u gotta be aggressive) and you will have the monthly $20 that it takes to keep your aweber acct in the clear.

If you do not have enough money to purchase autoresponder at the moment, why don't you find ways to make the money first so that you will have the profits to invest into your autoresponder account.

If you are able to use the script, I will assume that you have your own domain name and hosting account. Here is the simple method that I will use if I am looking for ways to get money to subscribe to autoresponder services.

-> Find one affiliate product that has good sales conversion.

-> Make use of the domain name to redirect to affiliate link.

-> Research and get more information regarding the market

-> Write and submit articles consistently to article directories and various web 2.0 website.

This might be the simple method that you can use to earn some money so that you can subscribe to the professional autoresponder services.

Have you thought about or are you using wordpress?

If you are there are a bunch of newsletter plugins that you can install as sidebar widgets which mail your subscribers when there's a new post.

It's not the perfect option but it's a free one and it's not co-branded and you won't have to deal with anyone elses advertising or user amount limits, etc.

I haven't personally played with that one but it just came up in a google search.

I know there are a ton of them that will work as a de-facto autoresponder and it's a very good work around for someone who can't afford aweber or a commercial autoresponder I think.

If that one doesn't do what you need just search for wordpress newlsetter plugin and you'll find something.

I also agree that you should try and get an aweber subscription or some other good commercial autoresponder, ideally.

Make enough money to pay for your autoresponder...

I know that sounds a bit harsh, but you can very easily put a plan together that will fund your future business, take a look around the forum. You can find the info easily enough.

Don't try short-cuts and quick-fixes, start as you mean to go on. And that means turning profits and then re-investing them into vital tools for your business, like an autoresponder.

I'm with Jay and Zack. Play to win as opposed to playing not to lose. Set yourself a plan so that the cost of the autorespnder is paid for by the assests you generate sales from.

Everyone said use Aweber and not try to do it on your own using a free script, but nobody gave any reasons.

Using Aweber, MailChimp or Getresponse you will not have to take care of getting white listed with hundreds of ISPs including mail services such as yahoo, google and hotmail keeping your domain out of the spam folders and spam databases.

Most hosting providers also limit the number of emails you can send out per hour to prevent spam being sent out from their servers.

Another way, is to get subscribers to sign up for a special rss feed. Create a subdomain, setup a blog, sign up to feedburner.com, activate rss to email and have people subscribe to this feed. Of course it will not send sequential messages only new posts, but its free. Don't want the posts indexed by the search engines check the box in wordpress under Setting ==> Privacy / I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors.

My advice still rests in aweber, when i started in IM i wasnt making any money for a very long time, the first thing i done though was invest in this, even though it would mean im running it at a loss for a while it would be worth it in the long run... eventually u will need a good relaible autoresponder, why build a list on a free autoresponder and then find out that your list cant be transferred to aweber ... then u will be building a list from scratch

try some bum marketing to get some extra cash for your business.

...And MailChimp will allow 300 responses free. By then, you should be able to smoothly upgrade to unlimited responses with MailChimp for a reasonable fee. Good luck!

p.s. and if you or anyone else would like to pick up some extra income, I need someone to install MailChimp autoresponders. I will pay $50 per installation and it should take less than 30 minutes per intall.

Free autoresponders to start out with sound like a good thing . The problem comes in when you have a list of 500 or so and now you can afford the paid versions but find it difficult at best to merge them onto the new list

If you can research and write good articles offer your services . If you are good enough at it I will have you write a few for me to get the money for the ar .

This is going to sound harsh and maybe it is meant to be to a certain extent . If your marketing skills are not to the point of being able to come up with the money to purchase a ar , what makes you think a list will help you out .

I am a firm believer in the list . I know there is money in the list. Too many people are told the money is in the list but never hear the explanation that just having that magical list makes no money whatsoever .

I believe that it may have the look and feel of Aweber since the Private Label is from them. 10,000 leads for $20 per month.

But the Chimp should do the job if you just want to gather email with minimal series response. And if you need to send more than 3000 blast a month, your personal email could do the job - or several of them. You can even spin a personal touch to that.
