Changing Header in Studio Themes

Hi, hoping anyone can help... I have a blog with the Studio 'Lifestyle' theme and have had a header done for it.

What I can't figure out is how to change the complete header- I have renamed my new header and uploaded it to the 'image' file but looking at a tutorial it appears the the header is in two sections and my new header won't show.

Is it possible to change the whole header to one new image or would I need a program such as Photoshop?

Thanks a lot everybody and Happy New Year

  • It is in two sections because of the ad on the right side.

If you made one long header that goes across the entire page?

If so then I think in that case you have to go into the .css file and change the class for the header to be 960 wide (if my memory servers me correctly, it is now only half that wide, thus only half the header shows).

  • Thanks a lot Lee I will give that a try!
  • In the CSS section under header, you will see the URL of the image (incase you named it something different). Also adjust the height to the height of your new header if different than the original size.

Then go into your Theme Editor section and pull up header.php. Then remove the other code for that section (the ad and logo parts) so just the image background shows up from the CSS file.
