I've dabbled in Stumble Upon and try to write decent posts, but I've only picked up a friend or two along the way. From what I understand, you've got to have a small network of friends, say 10-20, where you can each mutually pick-as-favs and thumbs-up each others' sites/pages to benefit from SU and drive some traffic to your site, right?

Btw, I always use Social sites responsibility and don't just pump my own site, try to contribute, etc.

Here's my question: how in the heck are you supposed to get friends on Stumble? Somehow that eludes me. What's the best way to build a small network?

I always feel like I'm reading-and-thumbs-up-andor-downing and posting comments and nothing much happens except a half hour of my day has gone away...

Any advice is much appreciated...

Go to a forum and whinge about needing friends?

Seriously, look for people you like off of SU, and point them at your SU stuff.

That's a good idea, but I kind of doubt that the other forums I go to have people that use SU. I mean probably some of them do I guess...

I think you missed CDarkLock's point. He's suggesting you find other StumbeUpon users who you enjoy what they are stumbling, and try to befriend them. Not by hunting for them in forums.

They are obviously active Stumblers, and would be the perfect ones to direct to your site.

You could also check around in the Warriors for Hire section, you may discover there are some "Stumblers" for hire.

Well, I think thats a pretty honest way to go about it. You see, you're mixing blackhat and whitehat. Your content is good, but you want to push your stumbles by using friends (in a big way).

Now, in my experience, your content has to be extremely good. The best way is, search for niche related jokes, then try to create a jpeg image of it (something like little comic book). Now, next thing is numbers, do 20 to 30 then if one of them becomes a hit, you will hit the jackpot.

On the other hand , if you dont want to stress lot about content creation, then i would say start asking every goddamn human on earth for a stumble that's a bit tedious, but you could outsource that!

I love content creation - that's the whole reason I do all this. I love writing as well.

Interesting idea on the jokes - thx! You're saying create a page on my web site with jokes and then post to stumble I assume?

Duh! Should have thought of that. So, basically, just look to see their URL and then give a thumbs up and/or make it a favorite?

Aargghh. I went into SU and have browsing around and I cannot find where other SU's members web site is listed. If anyone can point this out to me, I'd appreciate it...
