Help - Trying to start my own brand

Hello there,

I have been sitting with a pen and paper here for the past 3 hours and I am now stuck!!!

I want to start my own brand, a sort of online web brand that I can enter various markets with, the problem is that I have no idea what to call it.

What I am looking for is a made up word I think, but I am not to sure.

Can anyone help me please, it just seems as if I have no creativity at all, and this has stumped me totally.

Any input or ideas that you have that can help me think of a new word to call myself and this new venture will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Grab a thesaurus, find two words that have the kind of meaning that you want your business to convey and merge them together or split them and merge them.

Might work, it has for me in the past.

    Good luck

Thank you for that input, the problem is that I have tried that and I have tried to use a Dictionary but no luck at all.

My plan is to get a name such as "Jack.com" for example and then take that brand and expand it like this:

      jacktravel.com
      jackshopping.com

      etc....

So that is why I need a great, short and decent name that is catchy and perfect.

No the spelling is what makes it unique when making a brand you want something unique easy to remember and easily associated.

Kiosc is a domain already used but kiosc solutions is not. see how it works Oscar you take part of your name and incorporate it for instance i have 2 3 brands one is wd products where quantity meets quality memberprods the training you need and the tools to succeed and wimino technical service when your done with the rest come to the best

It is all a matter of having something catchy

see attached a small file i wrote a while back, it has 2 columns, add any mix of words to any column and save away

the third column you can set then number of merges to display, but leave it low on 30 or so, press merge to refresh for new words

highlight any word and select save to save of any words you like as you go, or just highlight and press clear to delete saved words

the words a macros will just sort and delete duplicates, you can copy word a to word b or create 2 separate sections of different words.

it has macro's to run it so you will be promoted to enable macros on open, select yes, if you have macro security turned to high rest it to medium, and yes excel 2003 or later. enjoy

    ----

a true story to finish, i needed a new company name and built this toy up and after 7 days and just before i needed the name it spat out ( after 1 gazillion ideas ) these words

try here ( from memory now ), i remember laughing at the time saying well i am am tryin here to get a name, but at that point it was born as it fell into place because like your quest i could now add any prefix or ending i wanted

good luck with your quest, and a tip is go to scrabble sites ect and grab the word files for different length letter names, all 4 letter words, 5 letter words ect ect and past them into the selector section.

You will find your answer soon. There is a great book called "The Answer" by John Assaraf which shows you ways to design your dream business/idea. That will give you some big help.

    OK!
So all these suggestions are great.
    BUT.
it really comes down to this...
will the name you want to create fit the brand? if you go and get a list of all the social bookmarking websites you will see so many weird and made up names, and very few of those ever stick.
at the same time a brand name like KING-PIE very obviously tells you what it does.
So maybe you need to write down all the words of all the different sites that you will have within that brand - like
    email marketing
    traffic
    xxxxx
    xxxxx
and then find the words that cover all of those.
A bit like online university - but it is not only taken but in my eyes to see-through.
grrbtn1959 had a good suggestion. KEEP IT TO TWO WORDS.
    like
    onlinegold
    puregold
    goldsource

    or whatever.

either way you did get me thinking.

Do you ever Fart in the bath????

It's great to have a good laugh when you have a brain block, it
      loosens you up for creativity.

The other way to brain storm names is get a mate or 2 and start
a rhyme, each person can say a few words that must rhyme, you
will get a buch of ideas that you can use for Rob Andersons
      suggestions.

This may seem silly, like kids games but who cares if you can
have a laugh and get the result

I have been thinking about this all day ( on and off )
And I came back to ask this question.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW LONG YOUR URL CAN BE?
    Think about this.
what if you called your website something like
    HTTP://the-most-important-and-brilli...-marketing.com
or even longer. Naturally you would wrk out a better sounding sentence.
But just imagine what sort of traffic that you could get if you do some decent viral marketing, and a few decent press releases.
CNN would love to put you on the news as the "longest" url
