Need Help With Stupid FireFox Question

How do you add URL's to the main drop down menu? Not the bookmarks or the toolbar, the one in the center at the top? I've looked and tried everything I can think of.

I know it's probably stupidly simple, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks,
Steve

    Hi Steve,

That's not a stupid question - it's just one you didn't know the answer to.

If I understand correctly you want to add URL's to the drop down menu of the text area that displays the URL of websites when you visit them?

The way I do it is I just type or paste the URL into the text area and then I hit the "Enter" key - Firefox goes straight to the website (of course) and after that the URL will be in the drop down menu.

Just one thing - it'll only stay there for as long as the temporary Internet files are stored in Firefox's cache then you'll have to repeat the process.

You can set the length of time you want Firefox to keep them. To do that click on >Tools >Options and then on the Privacy tab.

Make sure there's a check in the box for "Remember visited pages for the last _ days." and type in how many days you want the files to remain before Firefox clears them. That's also how long the URL will stay on the drop down menu.

You might not want them to be stored too long though because Firefox will store ALL of the webpages that you visit for that length of time - not just the ones you want. My son found out the hard way that saving webpages for more than a year takes up an awful lot of hard drive space.

    I hope that helps.

    Lynn
