I need to set up affiliates for my services

Fellow Warriors,

I just finished setting up my website and its ready to launch. I'm gonna offer SEO, web design and content writing services for internet marketers, online business firms and individuals. I would like to set up affiliates for my services where anyone who promotes my services will get a % cut out of every order through him/her.

Can you guys share if you know how to set this up? Do i need to pay and register myself with a affiliate network as a merchant? If so, is there a network which accepts online services as a campaign?

Your inputs are much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Regards
Hari

Use iDevAffiliate, and you can manage it in house... this is what I'm implementing this month.

    Kindest regards,
    Karl.

Thanks for this input... I was gonna go with 1shopping cart at $100 a month, but this got me to re-think my expenses. Thanks for the idea and this post.

All you need is a merchant account that handles affiliates. There are hundreds of them, just do a Google search. Make sure you watch how much they take because if your offering 75% and the merchant accounts take a large amount , then there isn't much left for you. If you want a totally hands off way, then Clickbank is a good method, but they are kinda expensive. However, they handle everything, all you do is cash the check.

Yeah I checked some sites already and they seem to be asking for $300 non-refundable deposit which makes me think. Again, I don't think clickbank accepts services like SEO or content writing.

No problem, always happy to help. I'm just waiting on payment for a job, then I'm going to be getting it and setting it up on my main site.

I use ejunkie.com for my affiliate program. I offer blog setups, so I couldn't really go with clickbank. I'm planning on changing this later to a program I can run myself, just haven't decided which one yet.

I thought ejunkie was just meant for downloadable products. Do they actually accept services as well? If they do, it should be a lot more comfortable. Can you also throw some light on their commission rates?

I believe it's not only for downloadable products, but as I have a document they need to download that has the information they need to send me, I don't have to worry about that. They only charge a monthly fee, and up till 10 products and a maximum of 50MB to download it's only $5/month. The downside is that you are in charge of paying your affiliates yourself. You can download a list that you can input in your paypal account, but they don't do it for you.

    How stupid of me...

I just remembered you can offer services through PayDotCom too, if you don't want to host a script.

Good question I have been searching also for affiliations and Six Apart will not even consider your site until it has had 60 days of seasoning with weekly activity and then they choose what ads go on your site.
