NagWare... What Do You Think?

I am thinking of implementing this NagWare screen any day now. The User just needs to click OK to start the program. Obviously, the focus will default to the Order Now button.

What do you think? Is it TOO much nag or "just about right?"

Thanks!

    Hi Brandon

Hey, they're using it free so they can't complain, right?

    I think it's OK.

Two things I would have done differently:

    1. Replaced the exclamation marks with full stops. I hate exclamation marks!

    2. Use the space where all the payment images are to summarize the benefits.

    Cheers,

    Neil

Nagware does work. It does increase conversions. What you have is a fairly light version of nagware, but looks like it would be effective.

With me it increases conversion between being on my computer, and being not.

Once per day is enough, every five minutes is excessive so you have to get the balance right.

I have no doubt nagware works, but as a software user, if someone tells me something is free, it shouldn't "nag" me to buy it. I detest "nagware." or anything that masquerades itself as free, when it actually isn't.

Better to offer it is a trial that stops working after a period of time. Then there's no ambiguity.

    Just my two cents.

Hi Brandon, I'd definitely do an A-B split test on nag versus no nag, and then, (assuming you get higher conversions with the nag) start testing different types of nags.
