is PPV a viable option for IM?

i recently stumbled across a site, ithink it was massPPV or something like that...anyways i had never heard of this except when i think of adware..is this the same kind of concept?
is it worth looking into as a marketing option?
i would love your thoughts..

    I don't know about MassPPV product but I know that PPV can be quite powerful if you know how to use it properly. But again it's not something that is recommended for newbies.

    PPV is definitely very powerful and scalable, but I wouldn't recommend it for newbies who have little to no experience in IM. It is not a magic bullet, contrary to what the marketers might have you believe. Yes, it does bring you traffic at very low cost, but you still need to test and experiment with your campaigns before you become profitable. The mistake many newbies make is to assume they can automatically hit a winner the first few times - this rarely ever happens, and if you go into it assuming this then you'll be sorely disappointed.

    With that being said, the nice thing is that once you have tested and improved your camapaign to where it's profitable, you can just scale up from there and increase your spending for more profits. The trick is getting to that point for the newbie!

    I have started doing some ppv myself, but also have a pretty good background with ppc. I hate to tell you, but by the nature of your question it appears you are not ready for this just yet. You are going to need at least $200 to get started with an account (some are up to $1000). I would suggest you search the forums for every piece of info you can. But I see ppv as a next step evolution for people who know and are comfortable with paying for traffic.

    How does PPV work? I am guessing it is pay per view? How is that different from PPC?

    Well I visited massPPV, to find out what "PPV" means. And it's a garish OTT sales site. So I click close and 4 popups later I was out. Phew!

      You just had a live demonstration of PPV in action there! It's just basically contextual pop-up and pop-unders that show according to what website or search term(s) you're typing in.

    other than pop-up/pop-under, Interstitial webpage ?? I find it too intrusive.. but I bet it sure will grab attention as it takes over the whole computer screen..

    I think adware is different.. it installs on your computer.. like a browser tool bar.. when you visit a particular website.. or type in particular keywords.. it will redirect you to ad page...

    then there are malware.. scareware...
