Why You NEED to Edit PLR and actually READ what you are handing out

Like we explained before, create a second Ezinearticles.com account and write the same articles again under this different person's account.
Just got this in a plr ebook I'm editing. Anyone know what is wrong with this? It was buried near the end of the book.

Here's what you can find on the Ezine site:

Top (10) Reasons Why Accounts Get Suspended: 9. If a member has more than one account. Only one account per human is allowed. We consider members who have multiple accounts to be potentially trying to game the system in an attempt to stop us from creating a history profile on their account actions.
BTW, the PLR I am looking at seems to be released just last year.

It's amazing how many "instructional" ebooks will advise you to do things that could get you banned from the service they're supposedly teaching you to use. A lot of ebooks tell you to do things that are actually illegal like plagiarizing content or using images that you have no right to use.

It is really annoying having to dig through the crap. And I see it on a daily basis.

The problem is the book itself has some GREAT information overall. But I am using it as a guideline, replacing/removing some links to crap, Changing the ebook cover all together - which by the way I found a free photoshop action script last night that got me really excited.

It has helped me cut the time down to write the whole thing myself, but I've been plucking out the bad parts.

The files within are dated late Dec 2008 - so basically this is just over a year old.

It was such a complete package that I could see others easily just popping up the information as is and trying to sell it.

    Hi Jill,

Yes, there is a lot of flat-out wrong advice out there. Maybe these people have actually done it themselves before telling others, but some are only sharing theories in the guise of tried and true methods.

And thank you for recommending people do there own due diligence, that's where it's really at.

    All the best,
    Michael

You have to consider that a lot of PLR is complete junk, I'm not saying that all PLR is junk because I have found a lot of PLR articles that could have been sold for 10-20 dollars an article. I have also found great PLR e-books. If you find one that is trash, just delete it and find a better one.

It depends on how you're using it. Sometimes it's more like an oil well - you have to do some digging and refining.

          That's a good analogy Michael.

Another one is diamonds. Takes a lot of digging, and even when you find one it still needs a lot of polishing.

That's really a blackhat method I must say, if you want to go a long way you got to play by the rules.

Jill, do you want some action scripts let me know and I can pass some onto you as I bought some which were PLR.

A lot of the crap PLR comes from wholesalers who don't bother to read them, and often these have been doing the rounds for years.

I have seen some WSO which have rewritten some of the crap PLR and selling it as their own.

Some people take a pride in the work they do, and release good products. Others don't care.

Sending a PM - Thanks Bev!

I was in shock and awe at how cool the action script worked.

That has the be the worse assumption ever given.

Many of the best PLR creators have written for top people whether inside IM or outside IM. Just because some choose to have PLR as one of the ways to sell their writing doesn't mean they don't put as much effort into it as they do for writing outside of PLR.

If only people would think before they make rash assumptions because they have bought crap PLR from the wrong places.

Agree with you here. By the time you 'alter' the text, or fix up that horrid grammar and syntax, you could have researched the topic and written your own fresh and unique content.

Thanks for making the distinction, Bev!

Best advice for buying PLR: KNOW YOUR SOURCE.

Good writers research their facts for accuracy. The biggest problem with the current race to the bottom for cheap content prices is the amount of crap that gets published and sold online. Many PLR sellers settle for cheap outsourced writing with no research.

Buy from the PLR sellers who are known for well-researched products. Many of these sellers write their own products and have good reputations as writers as well.

Even with PLR you should be able to rely on the underlying research (in an ideal PLR world), but you're doing exactly the right thing by going through the product yourself. After all, once you release it, you will be the one who gets the glory or grief...not the PLR writer or seller.

Thanks for starting this thread. It's always good to remind people that PLR is intended to be rewritten and should be scanned for accuracy if it comes from an unknown source.

PLR is hit and miss for sure, but I always look at it as a starting point and plan on lots of rewriting. I think that's the best way to look at it anyway. I'd hate to sell a PLR product and have my customers asking for refunds because they bought it under another name from someone else. I think my customers expect my unique insights, and would be disappointed in me if I simply regurgitated content. Having said that, I don't use much PLR anyway because I love to write. Only once have I asked for a refund on a PLR product, and that's because the writer spent 15 pages telling me how the report didn't have any fluff - I got tired of reading the fluff about how it didn't have fluff.
